I’ve eaten here several times. This time it didn’t live up to the other meals.
They didn’t seem to have the air conditioning high enough to off set the flames at each table. It was cooler outside then in.
The floor around our table was really sticky.
The waitress was over worked so she didn’t give our party enough attention. Asked for more water, more napkins, more sauce, more soy sauce, our bottle was empty (so that means they didn’t do their normal fill up of items at each table before their shifts started) we had to ask more then once. My neice asked for lemonade and she got it half way into dinner. The shrimp was over cooked. Maybe I forgot but why did we get the veggies at the end of everything else being cooked? I like my meat with the veggies and rice.
So that’s the reason 3 stars for everything

We WANT to love this place. It's close, the food is good, the chefs are great, but for the second time in a row it took TWENTY minutes to be acknowledged while waiting - like we made a reservation and you can't even say hello or be right with you when we walk in? The floor is super sticky today, there are dead bugs in the waiting area... things a two minute vacuum and mop would fix. Reservation is worthless as we were waiting for an open table the same as people who walked in. All of the service staff are SO unfriendly, sour faces, no eye contact, minimal words. Chef forgot to/didn't flip the shrimp/chicken for people to catch - so the kids were super disappointed. Server never checked on drinks, never brought boxes (I had to go get them), never picked up the check - I paid upfront. Guess it really is worth the drive to Gainesville for the full experience because I'm not paying the same price for awful service again. I would give zero stars except that the chefs always are personable and do a great job. For $170 pre-tip for a family of four do better!!!

I don’t usually write restaurant reviews, but after our experience at Osaka this past Friday, I felt compelled to share. My partner and I went out for what we hoped would be a fun hibachi dinner, but unfortunately, it was disappointing from start to finish.
My partner ordered the hibachi chicken, which was extremely dry. I chose the filet and shrimp combo, and while the meat was slightly better, it still lacked flavor. We also ordered a sushi roll as an appetizer, and it was below average—definitely not the quality you'd expect from a place advertising itself as a Japanese steak and seafood restaurant.
The most surprising part was the portion size. For a bill that came to around $100 for two people (and no alcohol), we received shockingly small portions. When the chef served the veggies and rice, I honestly thought it was just a partial serving, maybe for one person. But no—that was it. That small amount was meant for both of us and a family of three seated next to us. I think I counted two mushrooms on my plate total. Most hibachi spots serve generous helpings, especially of veggies and rice. And on top of that, they charge extra for fried rice? That should be standard at this price point.
As for the entertainment—there wasn’t any, really. Our chef was completely disengaged. He did the egg trick and a very quick onion volcano, but beyond that, he barely spoke or interacted with the table. Hibachi is supposed to be fun and lively, but this felt rushed and uninspired, like he didn’t want to be there.
To top it off, the bathrooms—and the hallway leading to them—reeked of harsh chemicals. I went to wash my hands before dinner and almost lost my appetite because of the overwhelming smell.
The restaurant was also nearly empty—only about four families were there at 6 p.m. on a Friday night. After experiencing the food quality, small portions, lack of entertainment, and high price, I can see why.
I absolutely do not recommend Osaka Japanese Steak & Seafood.

We were told the wait was 5 minutes. We waited for 30 minutes and then watched a waiter ask another waiter why we were there and we finally got sat. We called to talk to a manager who could have cared less about our call. The ventilation was also very bad and the whole restruant was filled with smoke.

Called in order said it would be ready for pickup in 30 minutes. Arriving on time food wasn’t ready. The lady in charge of pickup orders was running circles. After 25 more minutes food finally was ready. Living in Culpeper we usually order there but since shopping in Warrenton thought we’d give the Warrenton Osaka a try. Never never again! Chicken and rice were dry. No sauce on meat. Ginger dressing that came with salad was awful. Ordered an Adult and Kids Hibachi chicken got 2 kids my fault for not checking before leaving the restaurant. Will definitely go back to the Osaka restaurant in Culpeper where you get better tasting food and service a whole lot better.

Save your money and go to the osakas in Culpeper. You get more food! Food taste better and comes in bigger quantities. This place has gone down hill.
The absolute worst experience. Received 3 UN-ROLLED sushi rolls with my large takeout order last night. They were hastily formed like cones with all the filling sloppily falling out. Was this supposed to have been an artistic representation of sushi? Food tasted bland. Service sub-par. Never again.
