I live in Little Washington and I dine here frequently. My experience up until this point has been mostly good. I had only wished that they had a slightly larger selection of food and my personal taste does not love probably 60% of what they have to offer - I do not like mixing sweet and savory. Today I ordered take out which I do frequently. I picked up my order and went home only to find that $30 worth of ice cream was missing. I called and went back to pick the ice cream. I stood in the entry way for several minutes while the bartender spoke with other guests before he handed me the ice cream. I got home and the caramel topping was missing… not the end of the world, but I feel like that’s a major part of their $15 butter pecan ice cream. Thought about driving back again to get it, but at this point 3 trips just to get what I paid for right doesn’t seem worth the effort. Probably won’t order for pick up again. Maybe they should not offer pickup because they always seem a little flustered when I order to take home.
This cafe never fails to disappoint. I meet my best friend here once a month and we look forward to going every time! It is such a treat! If you are a foodie and appreciate farm to table ingredients (and a crackling fireplace on a fall day), this is the spot for you!
After Autumn Leaves drive in Shenandoah Valley National Park,
I had a meal at Patty O's cafe and stopped by a bakery inside and bought a fig and goat cheese cheesecake.
This is really wrong.
I came home and ate a cake with Decaffe coffee, really!
It was so delicious that I regretted buying only two!
Why did you only buy two!! It's so delicious...
I want to eat again.
I'm sad because my house is far away.
Next time, I will go to a Michelin restaurant in Little Washington and this bakery again.

This was the most delightful surprise this morning on our way to Old Rag! We stopped in for croissants and lattes/chai before the start of the day and let me say we were floored by the croissants. The worker was pleasant and gave great recommendations too! The chai was delicious and not made from concentrate which I always appreciated. But those croissants were the best we’d ever tasted!!!! The plain was great but the raspberry and chocolate croissants were to die for. Cannot wait to go back just for those. We did return in hopes of more croissants but they had sold out so we settled for cookies which were fine but nothing in comparison to the croissants. Loved it!! I will say it’s slightly small inside so I wouldn’t plan on staying inside.

I made my reservation on accident for Monday the 30th. After driving an hour and thinking my reservation was for the 29th they were kind enough to seat and serve us at the bar. The bread was amazing. The food was enjoyable. I would be happy to visit again.

Took the family for lunch on Saturday after getting a Xmas tree nearby. While we didn't have a reservation, we sat outside and were offered blankets, which was nice. The heaters took a while to be turned on because there was no propane in the tanks. The manager had to change them out while we were sitting there. The food was OK, but not at the level I was expecting or hoping. What bothered me the most was the service. From the time we ordered, which took a good 20 minutes after we sat down, to getting our main course was over 2 hours. This is for a couple of burgers and fish and chips. I wanted to say something to the manager, but the kids didn't want to ruin a nice day. Lastly, while the bill was over $300 (we had a few drinks), the gratuity was added by the restaurant so I didn't have the option to express my disappointment in the service. Hope Chef Patrick sees this and makes some adjustments.
Meh. My burger was very nice. My spouse's Croque Madame wasn't. The bottom piece of bread was so soggy she could eat it with a spoon. We were candid about this without making any demands, they did nothing about it. Maybe I'm being difficult, but if you're going to fly a French flag from your restaurant and play stereotypical French accordion music in the rest room, I think you need to *nail* was is essentially a fancy grilled cheese.
