New to Waynesboro. Food was great, waitress very friendly and polite. Will be our future "go to" for Mexican food!
A friend in Waynesboro told me about this place just a year or so ago. Honestly, without a recommendation, I probably would have driven by it, again and again, always wondering if it was any good, but never stopping. (C'mon, we all do that, right?) This is hands down some of the best Mexican cuisine I've ever put in my mouth. Iguana Azul was also my introduction to the dish Molcajete. Now, it's all I order. I was told about this Mexican restaurant weeks ago and decided to give it a try for lunch. Walked in and was greated fast and seated. Didn't know that they had a buffet so to keep it simple I had the buffet.
The time was about 1pm and I found the restaurant clean, the restroom clean.
The food on the buffet was presented well and looked orderly.
Everything I put on my plate was tasty and I finished it all.

Iguana Azul Mexican Restaurant offers some of the best Mexican food, with generous portions and reasonable prices. The restaurant has a big menu selection, including Birria tacos, taco salad, tamales, chips and guacamole, molcajete burrito, and fajita burrito. Every item tastes fresh and homemade, made with love and tradition. The chips and salsa are on point with lots of flavor and a little heat. In addition to great quality food, there is a fantastic selection of adult beverages with seemingly every tequila made and flavors of margaritas, including a margarita flight. The service is good and the pickup experience is completely seamless, with friendly and welcoming staff. The restaurant is a smaller scale place with loud groups of people talking, but the food is top notch and consistently excellent. Everything is exceptional and not overpriced.
