We went with a larger party and everyone enjoyed their meals.The angel hair pasta circles were by far the group's favorite. The greek salad and panini's were well received. The margherita pizza didn't seem to quite match the level of the rest of the meals. It wasn't bad, just not outstanding.
Basic City is about a 7 minute drive from the blue ridge parkway so it's a great stop post Humpback, or between Cville and Staunton. The parking is easy enough and there's plenty of space indoors and outdoors to sit. The times we have been it has not been terribly crowded. When you go into the main tasting room, there's a section with pinball, pool, and ping pong. There were multiple families with kids and the kids seemed to be entertained. Food disappointing on a Saturday afternoon. The nachos left allot to be desired. Your option is either beans/corn or pork. We chose pork b/c we were hungry. There were a few wisps of pork, melted cheese, jalapeños and chips. $14.
