$15 Dollars for a small sandwich and $10 for a salad. The salad had little toppings and dressings on it mainly iceberg lettuce. The sandwich was very small for the price. The water was Lukewarm no ice and they were getting it from a large white bucket at the bar it tasted like hose water. Facebook page said tue- Saturday valentines specials however they did not offer the specials.

Food disappointing on a Saturday afternoon. The nachos left allot to be desired. Your option is either beans/corn or pork. We chose pork b/c we were hungry. There were a few wisps of pork, melted cheese, jalapeños and chips. $14.

The pizza is solid but everything else we tried was either gross or bland. The truffle fries had no truffle flavor and were soggy. We paid for a side of ranch and it was just a tiny little container. The angel hair pasta and meatball circle had hardly any sauce and was bland. Store bought pasta and meatballs would have been significantly better. The sausage risotto circle was a greasy gross mess. The presentation for all of it was unappealing. There was a concert happening that was way too loud so we had to go into basic to eat. They also charged us 12 bucks for a mocktail (no alochol) which is ridiculous. It was a disappointing experience. It’s also unfortunate the Patina is taking up so much space inside of basic now.

We went with a larger party and everyone enjoyed their meals. The angel hair pasta circles were by far the group's favorite. The greek salad and panini's were well received. The margherita pizza didn't seem to quite match the level of the rest of the meals. It wasn't bad, just not outstanding.

We ordered a prosciutto and arugula pizza that was okay but was missing the prosciutto and piled on the arugula. Okay but not great. The salad needed a lot more than arugula. The whole set up was complicated as hell. The wine choice (only one choice) was great. The sandwich one of us had was good. The French Hipster with Ruffle potato chips.Lessened learned too much arugula is not a good thing. And there is no service - you do your own running around. And no one seemed up really care.

Saturday night at 7. No clear place to order food and drinks now. Wine only available in Foundry bar. Given a buzzer for when food was ready. Never went off. Checked with kitchen, cold panini Cuban and around tomatoe sauce instead of aronchini..not a good dining destination.

Basic City is about a 7 minute drive from the blue ridge parkway so it's a great stop post Humpback, or between Cville and Staunton. The parking is easy enough and there's plenty of space indoors and outdoors to sit. The times we have been it has not been terribly crowded. When you go into the main tasting room, there's a section with pinball, pool, and ping pong. There were multiple families with kids and the kids seemed to be entertained. You can order food from the restaurant next door directly at the bar which is nice instead of walking over and placing a separate order. The mushroom pizza we got was great, hot, and fast and was a nice treat after a morning of hiking. We all got different IPAs and they were good, not necessarily memorable, but refreshing after a hike. My husband loves the ESB and we brought him a pack home. They have a separate cocktail area but we have not tried it. Staff is super friendly. Restrooms are clean.

The food is god awful and way overpriced. I couldn’t even finish half the pizza. Avoid this place if you value your insides.

Looks like a fun place. There was a private party so we didn't get to use the pool tables but we had a few very tasty beers and got a flimsy but palatable pizza and enjoyed ourselves on our stop in.

Hosted a work event at Patina and could not have been happier! Bart and team worked hard to ensure a success and the food was amazing (ordered more to take home!!). Ending the day with a happy hour! Great location to enjoy music and a drink. Great outdoor space!

Amazing what they have done with this space, from industrial warehouse to music hall/brewery/restaurant/community gathering space. The staff is amazing and yes, a little mad (in the hatter sense), the pizzas are stupid good and the beer is like the first time you heard your favorite song….this is a gem that has risen from the ashes of Eastern Waynesboro to bring us all together to groove, eat, drink, laugh and of course, celebrate! So whatever review you wanna read about this place I’ll let you know that personally, I love it and you should come experience it for yourself, not someone else’s take on it.Have a wonderful life discovering things for yourself ?

This is the restaurant for you, if you like feeling like you're eating in a cold warehouse with wobbly metal chairs and poor acoustics so you have to shout at anyone sitting with you...it is nearly impossible to get the attention of any of the hosts or servers as they are all constantly on their phones...all the management wreaked of booze including the head chef, Giachetti who was also extremely loud and rude. The bartenders expressed being intimidated by him and his vibes created a very negative atmosphere. The food was edible until i found one of what I assumed to be a hair from his beard in my pasta which was particularly disgusting since he does not appear to bathe often. Most of the arcade games either do not work or eat your moneyBe sure to lock your car doors if you decide to ear here as well...

Some absolutely fantastic pasta. The sides were pretty good but the sandwiches needed something. Just note that the main entires don’t come with a side. So if you order the sandwich, that’s all you get.Edit: 8/8/23Small sandwiches and definitely not worth the $15 a pop as you don’t get a side with them and out of the meatball and Cuban ones we tried they were not “tasty” at all.

Patina is the latest (Summer 2023) addition to the sprawling Basic City industrial complex. Once again, they've transformed an aging industrial/mechanical space into something modern and sleek. Kind of like when I use hair gel and wear black skinny pants. It's a visually stimulating interior loosely tethered to the brewery and shares space with The Foundry. If your Tinder date actually showed up, it would be a great place to get dinner after some happy hour brews if they seem worth spending some extra time with. The atmosphere was casual and contemporary but still industrial. You expect an all-night rave to kick off at any moment. The staff is young and friendly. I half expected them to ask about my relationship with the Lord and Savior. Thankfully their friendless wasn't creepy like that. They're pros at making you feel special. No eye-rolls and almost genuine laughter at my dad jokes - "Instead of à la mode, can I get that with ice cream".I wish the food portions were slightly bigger. But I really should practice better portion control. So, thanks, I guess, for helping me with that.Anyway, I, for one, welcome our Basic City overlords. Soon they will own all of Waynesboro, and we will be internationally known for flavorful beer, competitive trivia, really low sofas, friendly but no-nonsense service, and, now, Italian food with a modern kick.
