Not only does this restaurant have great authentic New Orleans style GUMBO, the portions were great the fried shrimp were the BOMB! Topped off with great service!!
I ordered from them last year and it was delicious! I’ve since tried ordering 3 more times over the course of 6 months and all three orders were cancelled. Twice because the restaurant was actually closed but for whatever reason open on DoorDash by accident? And once because the driver never showed up. It’s unfortunate because I really did enjoy the one time I was able to eat the food. I don’t think I’ll be ordering again.

After driving 45 miles and looking all over the place, i finally got there and found out that there was no seating!!! It is only delivery and pickup. What a disappointment! I was really looking forward to some good Cajun cooking.

Y’all need a better website. I wanted to order but wanted to see the menu first. i couldn’t find the menu on the website due to all the temu pop ups and ads. I gave up and just found something else to eat. I’ll try again later if i stop in person. A usable website is necessary if i just want to browse the menu and call in my order ahead of time (i don’t use delivery apps). Meant to be helpful advice. Love the idea though. This area needs different cuisines

Ordered via Door Dash and the dasher stole my okra. So I sent my husband there to get some more (I really wanted some and good fried okra is hard to come by). She made a fresh batch for me and gave us two drinks - no charge, though I’d have paid again for it. And that okra was worth the extra effort to go pick it up - so amazingly delicious (even better than my mom’s)! The fried shrimp was also delicious and my husband devoured the bourbon burger. We are too full to even eat the lemon berry cake! Between the great food and thoughtful customer service, we may have a new regular spot.

After living in southern Louisiana for several years, and just getting back from visiting New Orleans, our meal from the gumbo hut made me feel like I never left Louisiana! Had the Red Beans, Yaya Gumbo, Creole Beef with Broccoli, and more! I spent years trying every "Cajun/Creole" restaurant I could find in Virginia only to be disappointed, but Gumbo Hut breaks the mold! If you don't want to buy a plane ticket to New Orleans, just go to the Gumbo Hut and you will have the real experience!
