The best Mexican food in Williamsburg, in our opinion.

At one point I was their biggest cheerleader and have eaten there dozens of times to include going there on my birthday for the last three years in a row. Out of all of the choices in Williamsburg I chose 7 Mares. I had also recommended them to countless people over the last few years. I have noticed that the food quality has progressively become average at best. I moved here from Texas and at one point it reminded me of the quality of food I had gotten back home. This year we showed up for my birthday dinner on a Wednesday night around 7:30 pm and there were maybe a half dozen people there. The waitress seated us and my boyfriend mentioned that it was my birthday and that we have come here every year for the last three years to celebrate. Her reaction was lack luster at best. When we got our food, the street tacos (which is my usual and my personal favorite) they were barely warm and the flavor was non existent compared to what I've eaten there in the past. Then the waitress showed up with our check and didn't even ask if we wanted dessert much less offer a birthday dessert. It seemed like we were being rushed out the door and it wasn't busy or late. I contacted the manager the following day to make him aware of how disappointed I was and he apologized but offered nothing to rectify the situation. Between this horrible experience and the average quality of food we might as well go to any of the other Mexican restaurants in Williamsburg.

We did take out. The food tasted great and was ready shortly after I arrived to pick it up.

We have found our Mexican Food place. We are from California and had been looking for good Mexican food which is hard to find on the East Coast. Really anywhere east of New Mexico. This is hit. They got the spice we like and the service is great. My husband loves the Burrtio with Bacon in it. I love the fajita burrito and tacos!

In Williamsburg for work, and 7 mares has been my go to spot for dinner. Great food at a great price and excellent service (shoutout AZ!). Highly recommend the steak a la Mexican or el tapatio. If you are in the area, give this place a try!

Tried on a whim while visiting Williamsburg. Good food and very large portions. Noise level was pretty loud and wish most of the tvs were showing Sunday night football instead of an animated show were the only drawbacks
