It's been far too long since my last visit here, and I am delighted that today's lunch more than lived up to my memory! I ordered my favorite, the chicken Cæsar salad, and it was fresh, crunchy, and full of shredded rotisserie chicken. My dining companions had the steak-frîtes and the bœuf Bourguignon - the steak was apparently just a *bit* overcooked but the truffle fries are to die for. The bœuf Bourguignon was incredible, the sauce deeply flavorful and unctuous. My cucumber cocktail was light and refreshing, and glory hallelujah, they've brought back the big bowl of chocolate mousse that I haven't seen since before lockdown (so yummy I forgot to take a photo). The mousse is delightfully smooth and not too sweet, a perfect end to the meal. Our server was lovely, attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu (I don't remember her name, but she has Rainbow Fish earrings!) I left with an utterly content stomach, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend!

We have been here on several occasions for lunch and dinner. Always had good food and service. Saturday was the worst experience we’ve ever had. I ordered quiche: over cooked with a hard 1/4” layer of what I assumed was cheese, no cheese or bacon taste within the quiche. Husband ordered cassoulet (wanted lamb shanks but wasn’t available were we informed of that until we ordered which took at least 15”). The cassoulet was tasteless bowl of ??? The only positive note:we always had water on the table. Otherwise, service was slow. We had to put our coats on and get up before getting our checks tendered.If we had not been with 2 other couples and late to our performance, I would have sought the manager. Did you change chefs, short-staffed, ??? No excuse for the prices you charge!!!

In a world where customer service is dwindling, Blue Talon still gets it right. Personally, I can be understanding of “bad days”, but there she be a standard at every level of service in any type of business. That said, let me tell you how they made our visit extra special.

We used to come here often when we lived in Hampton Roads. We loved it so much we would bring visiting family.

Naturally, we popped in when we came back to the area. Our favorite entree was not on the menu. Our server, who was kind and attentive, offered to talk to the chef to see if she would accommodate us. This is something you just don’t see in this day and age — a server willing to go above and beyond, and the notion that a chef would be willing to accommodate?

So they did! The chef was able and willing to accommodate us, so we had our favorite breakfast entree. We caught the chef heading to the back, and were able to thank her. She was humble and gracious. ☺️

It was as delicious as we remembered it!

We made the mistake of ordering Parisian Hot Chocolate for my husband and daughter!!!! ☕️ I couldn’t stop dipping my croissant it. Don’t do it! It’s addicting! But we will be getting it if we come back while it’s on the menu. 🤭

Lastly, I needed to reprint our receipt. Not a usual request. As typical, impatient patrons, I asked other servers that were close by. They and the host were attentive. One of the servers was able to make it happen. Again, above and beyond, because POSs can be finicky.

Management is definitely doing something right. They have customer service standards. They are hiring the right people, and training them well.

Interesting bistro to be at. We had the chicken cordon bleu with spinach salad. It's was big enough for 2. The top was like a crust. Crunchy with sause on top. We got a side of truffle fries.

Lunch at the Blue Talon was first class and professional. Food and service by the bar staff could not have been any better

It took a while to get a reservation at this restaurant. So I was anticipating something magnifique. The service was all right. The atmosphere was lovely.. The French Onion Soup had a wad of cheese on top and not much soup below. The so-called Crepe with Chicken and Mushroom had not a crepe in sight. The serving was a casserole of mostly bland sauce that needed salt to add any flavor. Then, the diner has to dig deep into the bowl to find the other ingredients which may have included a crepe along with chicken and mushroom. My suggestion would be to observe other French chefs that expose the beauty and tastiness of the crepe to the light of day and highlight other ingredients other than tastleess sauce.

It was our first visit in 9 years. It was very good then, and today’s experience was literally perfect. Everything we ordered was served perfectly and absolutely delicious. Especially my son loved his shrimp & crawfish etouffee. Our server was very professional, i.e. knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and courteous. We simply had a blast.

Another restaurant that relegates single diners to the bar and doesn’t have tables for one apparently. (Oh and apparently they’ll call you a liar too per the comment below smh as if I have any reason to misrepresent what actually happened.)

The food was absolutely delicious but we waited forever to get a table, submit because non one told us where to wait and then ignored us. We finally asked and we're seated quickly and everything else went well.

I went here along with 3 local friends of mine and we liked the sandwiches and salads. The staff provided good service and we had a good time.

We found everything at Blue Talon to be well above average. The food, the service, and the overall appearance of the restaurant were superior. I can definitely recommend the beef bourguignon.
