I was excited to visit this spot at a friends recommendation. Unfortunately our visit was disappointing and just felt off. With the amazing ratings and reviews, I just can’t imagine that I got the same experience that most people get.

We came on a Saturday evening so expected a wait. We were given a buzzer with an estimated 30 minute wait which was fine. We waited for an hour before going to check on our status. I saw my name was crossed off the list even though our buzzer hadn’t gone off. The manager that was working the front said she had called and that no one answered. I saw that my number was written down correctly so it wasn’t a wrong number situation. I just have a hard time believing that both forms of contact - the buzzer and my number, didn’t work. I had no missed call and no voicemail was left so it really felt like a lie.

She said they had a table for us and took us outside - We were not asked if we wanted to sit outside. At this point it was 7:30 and low 60’s, we would have really enjoyed sitting warm indoors. I don’t believe there was an apology for the mix up, she just said thanks for checking and sent us an order of hush puppies.

Honestly, I would have written this off as a mishap but I ordered a drink and what I got what absolutely abysmal. It looked like some someone had drank out of it already. This was a $13 l drink and there was only 2 full sips of liquid in this drink. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to seem like I was just complaining over small things but looking at this drink, this is absolutely unacceptable at ANY price point.

The food was decent, a bit overpriced for amount you get but that’s common for tapas. There’s also a random convenience fee added to our bill even though we paid cash. With this experience, it’s not a place I felt welcomed, would recommend or return.

Casa Pearl, located at 722 Merrimac Trail in York County, Virginia, was an incredible disappointment based on the experience we had. Let me be perfectly clear: this restaurant is not in the city limits of Williamsburg, Virginia. It’s well outside the historic charm and colonial beauty that Williamsburg, Virginia, is known for.

The area surrounding Casa Pearl feels unwelcoming and rundown. Across the street is an dilapidated gas station, an Enterprise Rent-A-Car awkwardly operating out of what looks like a closed-down bank, and a strip mall in desperate need of a facelift. Just up the street, there’s a dirty, run-down Wawa that only adds to the depressing vibe of the area. This is a far cry from the picturesque charm Williamsburg, Virginia, is famous for.

Inside the restaurant, the atmosphere was chaotic and disorganized. It looked like the staff was openly arguing with each other, creating an uncomfortable tension that was impossible to ignore. The lack of professionalism was glaring, and it felt like no one cared about providing a pleasant experience. Adding to the discomfort was the noticeable presence of cigarette smoke wafting around the inside of the building. While people are free to smoke if they choose, it’s disappointing when that nasty air creeps into the dining area, making the experience even less enjoyable.

I had high hopes for this place but - The entire experience—from the unappealing location to the chaotic staff—was a letdown.

If you’re looking for a restaurant that reflects the charm and hospitality of Williamsburg, Virginia, this is not it. Casa Pearl is not in the city limits of Williamsburg, Virginia.

I am so disappointed .. 😢 hopefully they can get it together in the future.

We are visiting from New Jersey and ate here on our first night in Williamsburg. I wish we ate here on our last night because my husband and I cannot stop talking about how amazing the food was here. We love supporting local restaurants and trying a new restaurant each night but we contemplated each night if we should go back here because we could not stop thinking about all of our food. They had the best baked clams I have ever had and their key lime dessert was so light and refreshing. I’m currently 8 months pregnant and was really upset I couldn’t try any of the raw options so we will definitely be coming back here once the baby is here. Noah, our server, was amazing and the whole ambiance was so relaxed and chill. Highly recommend, it is worth every penny!

Visited this restaurant from Texas and I was really looking to enjoy some fresh oysters. My wife and I sat at the bar and were extremely satisfied with the service from the two gentlemen at the bar that served us. The oysters were amazing my wife ordered a taco and I ended up going back for oyster chowder. I am still telling stories of how amazingly fresh the food was 10/10 recommended! Thank you Casa Pearl

I live nearby and decided to check it out. The Agua de la Casa drink was good. The happy hour specials and food were nice. I had the pork tacos, which were amazing. I also tried the oyster po-boy, fish tacos, and oyster and pearls. I had a great time, and I'm definitely going back.

The inside is a little cramped but we were able to get a seat on a busy Saturday night without a wait. Food was good. They let you choose a mix of oysters from all over in your platter, which was a nice experience. I had the (Thai?) salad with chicken which consisted of one chicken strip cut in half on top of what seemed to be bag salad and avocado. It was good but they could def put a couple more pieces of chicken on there. The tacos were a little pricey for what you get, they’re not that special for the price (lot of cabbage). However, the money dish was the smoked fish dip, it was legit awesome. Would go back just for that. The service was excellent, for a cramped space, they’re on their game.

This is a fun trendy tapas spot. We tried the roasted oysters, which were superb, Shrimp toast, which is not your typical style, but a thicker toast with shrimp in it minced. ?,, The honey butter just tasted like sweet butter. like the hush puppies but felt needed noticeable onion in it. The ceviche was freshly prepared and truly the highlight of her meal sampling. We tried their only dessert which was a Keylime tort light fluffy, and tart just the way it should be. The wait staff here were incredibly sweet and Attentive. We did not try to tacos, which was highlighted, but will save that trip for next time!

Two visits in one week because it's all so very good:). That Duck Confit special taco needs to go on the menu. Lovely raw oysters, charbroiled oysters, the hush puppies and brussels sprouts were divine, as were the chicken taco and Golden salad. Two thumbs up once again. We moved away 2 years ago and it has not lost any of its charm!

The staff at casa pearl helped save my life I came in the day i had to bury my child that morning to eat to have my sons favorite food raw oysters And they wouldn't let me pay and I planned on killing myself that night after that meal but they told me it was taken care of and that kind gesture stopped me from joining my son and i will be eternally grateful they noticed it and took care of the meal my son would havs ordered cuz having a dozen oysters was our thing to do together. Thank you for the hospitality and kindness you saved my life that night

A great recommendation from a waiter at another restaurant we dined with. Casa Pearl is a fun, creative experience in a converted gas station!!! Do not miss this place!

Love that you can miz and match from four kinds of raw oysters.

Kid-friendliness: They did have kids options but replace fried with fried plantains which my kids didn't care for.
