As usual, Cochon was wonderful! I had my usual Elderflower Martini and opted for the crab cake, appetizer size, as my entre and paired it with the vegetable of the day and some of my partner's wonderful au gratin potatoes. The crab cake was outstanding as usual, almost solid backfin! My partner had the pork, veggie du jour and au gratin potatoes and pronounced it all wonderful. We topped it off with Creme Brulee. Neil, the owner and chef, never disappoints!!
Another wonderful meal at Cochon. We started with some of their creative cocktails and split a caesar salad. My wife had the duck breast with a glass of Côtes du Rhône red, and I had the scallops dish with a glass of CA chardonnay. All drinks and food were fantastic, and Ben did an excellent job of servicing our table. Recommended!
Our food was excellent. Our server, Sean, was friendly although a bit distracted because he had too many tables. The noise level can make it hard to hear. Having said all of this above, I would not hesitate to come back and eat here
Must include you credit card to get a reservation, then state that you will be charged no service charge if you pay in cash. They push drinks with drink menus. Food was Good nut nothing out of the ordinary for the price. No pepper on the table but you were offered pepper. A small bowl of salt was on the table with no spoon, had to use your fingers if you wanted salt. Can't imagine how many fingers had been in the salt bowl before mine. Capuchino very small portion but very good. Waitress was not friendly at all. When the bill was presented a percentage was added for a credit card. When we told them we were paying cash, they stated they had to redo the bill. This place was one of our favorites years ago, we went often, but now it just appears to be a bar pushing drinks with some food on the side. It was very crowded!!! Never again for us.
We were in Williamsburg for a short vacation, and chose Cochon on 2nd for our dinner on the night of arrival. It was our first visit to this gourmet restaurant. Frankly, we would have been smart to have eaten there both nights....it was that good. We haven't seen such a superb example of a well-run restaurant in a very long time. I would rate Cochon on 2nd above 99 percent of the restaurants in Washington, DC and surroundings. Everything happened the way it should in a gourmet restaurant...luxe hospitality, thoughtful staff, timing, size of portions. Finally, although the wine list is short, every selection is fairly-priced, and an outstanding example of the varietal and region.
Outstanding from start to finish. Memorable dining experience and will be back soon! The service and management exceeded my expectations!
My wife found that the lental soup and porkchop was too salty. The salad had too much vinegar dressing. I had the ceasar salad and halibut special was excellent. Kind of a mixed experience.
We love Cochon, but on this rare occassion they were off the mark with their service. It was nearly 45 minutes before we got our wine and received our appetizers well before the bottle arrived. By the time I had my first sip of wine, my soup was cold. The food was delicious, but the whole experience was not what we have become accustomed to. Everyone can have a bad, night, so we will be back and hope it was a one time event.
Absolutely delightful evening! Second special visit since summer began. From entrance to exit, my wife and I enjoyed the expert guidance with Rene's specialized passion. Wine choices -wonderful! Pork belly, and salads - strikingly delicious! Crab cakes, & fresh fish - exceptional! Jazz night was terrific! Open kitchen was tactical & fine tuned! Cannot wait to return!
Wonderful staff, very attentive, owner checked on us personably, exceptional food. We will return frequently.

Accommodating staff, great service from both bar and server, never rushed, and we all enjoyed our varied meals. Had a great time.
Our dinner was exceptional; the food was perfectly prepared and flavorful; our server was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly, and the atmosphere was great.
At the suggestion of our waitress, I got the eggplant bisque...it was fantastic, but the portion was enough for a meal...could barely eat any of my main course. Suggest a smaller portion for the soup. Everyone enjoyed the seafood selection of scallops, crab cakes and halibut.
We make a point to eat here every Williamsburg visit. It's a gem tucked away. Always great food, service and atmosphere. Pricey but special for a very nice evening out.
Excellent menu and our server had extensive knowledge of the wine list ~ Probably the very best Duck breast I have ever experienced **
