Lovely day to sit on Duke of Gloucester in Merchant Square. We had delightful service from Carter. So happy to see the Ploughman's Lunch Board back on the menu. It paired nicely with a glass of Segura Cava. We also had the Fried Cod sandwich which was equally delicious.

Food was SO disappointing. My fish and chips was inedible, my mom’s ceaser salad was barely dressed, and my boyfriend’s burger was mediocre. I’m disappointed that I took my family here as the other restaurants in Williamsburg were great. I’d recommend the Blue Talon and colonial restaurants!

Four stars for the rail sandwich. No stars for the chicken sandwich--two very skinny slices of dried out chicken smothered in an overly sweet sauce. Avoid it.

Everyone was very friendly. The atmosphere is lively but not loud with music to talk over. There are some nice TVs over the bar so you can catch the game. There is not a bad item on the menu. We have had roasted chicken which was flavored well but not too salty, the shepherds pie is enough for 2, the bread chips that come with the beer cheese are delicious, and I have no idea what the sauce is that came with a side of fries but it was delicious!

I had one of their specialty drinks and it was made with lemonade and gin. The lemonade tasted like it was mixed with 4 times the water and "what gin." The chicken bacon corn chowder was disgusting. No corn flavor, just flour, and it appeared that they threw all ingredients into a blender and pureed everything. The only good thing I can say is that they are consistently..... awful. Worst restaurant ever. Server never asked us if everything was OK. I think he knew.

Great place for lunch. I enjoyed a flight of beer with my DoG Street burger. It was perfectly cooked and very good. My mom had the humongous hot dog and enjoyed it.

This restaurant is great! They offer a nice variety of food, American and English, with fantastic customer service. The lamb Shephard's pie has been my favorite, but the fish options have also been great! This is a good place for a quick bite, lunch, or dinner and has options for all ages and tastes. I'll definitely be back!

English pub, excellent food. Potato soup was today 's special and it was amazing with bacon on top. Wings app was perfectly crisp. One diner's side dish of mashed potatoes was cold. We ate outside and it was a beautiful day. If you like an English pub with a diverse enough menu to satisfy the daring and the picky, you've found your place.

Was there on 3/8/24 around 3:30pm and upon entering, the greeter asked how many in my party (2), he then walked away and did not return for over 10 minutes, another worker asked to help us. I ordered calamari, soup and fries. The very small portions of fries and calamari were both cold and the peppers (with the calamari )were inedible. The soup was room temperature as was the beer. The waitress was very slow and soft spoken. I had to wait a very long time for food and then she could not be found to take payment. It's really sad to see how restaurant service has gone down and prices have gone up!
