Cupcakes are so good. I loved the red velvet and the carrot cake.

Ordered 30 cupcakes (party size) for a birthday party. The owner was accommodating to our requested pick up time on a closed day (which the only reason for the stars). The cupcakes were pretty but tasted horrible. Everyone took a bite and then promptly threw them in the trash. There was something off about the icing. It had a bad after taste and texture. The cake portion was mediocre unfortunately. For $4.45 a piece, it was incredibly disappointing.

I ordered a cake for our 60th Anniversary company party. The cake was heavy, dense, dry and was sitting on a stand in the corner when I arrived. I will never order from this place again. I was embarrassed to say the least.

Was in the area today and tried the cupcakes. Dry and no flavor.

The cupcakes taste great but the frosting was definitely melted. My guess would he this is less because cupcakes being frosted while still warm and more so because the kiosk inside Illy is positioned right next to the door. All that hot summer air being let in does not fare well with frosting

I love these cupcakes! It is a stop I make every time I am in town.

Change of location was a terrible mistake.I am a Williamsburg resident and visited frequently in former location. Everything that was good about it is now terrible. Only online ordering and it is awful. Parking is a nightmare especially during tourist season.Carrot cupcakes were dry dry dry. Sitting in a corner to be picked ked up doesn't provide freshness. The staff are rude, it is loud and crowded.Big mistake. Small Cakes is round the corner, you can talk to someone and the cupcakes are fresh and you see caring person

Was extremely dissapointed with a cake order my parents got for my graduation. Not only was the lettering atrocious (see photos) the cake was so dense and dry that 2/3 of it were thrown out. Since my parents are from out of town, I tried to reach out to see if any refund can be given, as it saddened me that they spent so much money to come all the way to Virginia to celebrate me and had to pay EIGHTY DOLLARS for this... I called 3 times and left a message and never heard back. These people do not answer the phone, they do not care about customer service, and they do not care about customer satisfaction.

We also ordered cupcakes for my party, which were great, so for all those ordering in the future— maybe just stick to those.

Let me start by saying, I am in Louisiana and I ordered this cake for my daughters Law school graduation! Pretty important! There was no option to order over the phone. It was all online. I thought for sure that they would call me for specifics on my cake. They only let you choose color of icing and cake flavor. When arriving in Williamsburg, I went to the address online and it's just a coffee shop where you pick up the cake. They are made out of the owners house. The communication was awful. I was so disappointed when I picked up the cake. My 4yr old grandson could of written my daughters name better. I would be embarrassed to give this to a customer. Not all was lost. I scraped off the name and added flowers (which I made sure were safe to put on food) I will never order a custom cake online again.

Best cupcakes in Williamsburg! They are delicious! They also do great custom birthday cakes!

I ordered a dozen cupcakes for a Christmas party. It was my first time ordering from Extraordinary Cupcakes but the reviews were so good!What a mistake! Ordering them was easy but picking them up was not—staff at Illy were not knowledgable. But whatever—I got the cupcakes and was on my way. But the quality of the cupcakes—-the cupcakes were dry! I was so disappointed not to mentioned kinda peeved b/c they were not cheap :(

We were so sad to find out that after the pandemic, our favorite cupcake storefront had closed. I’m happy they teamed up with illy Caffe! The thought of not being able to get one of their cupcakes again was depressing!I love their seasonal recipes and their every day ones as well. Their cake is moist and the frostings and fillings aren’t overly sweet- they are perfect! They also are a great gift for birthdays and special occasions!
