Stopped in while on a day trip to Williamsburg with my husband. We got a hot and an iced caramel latte, and it was probably the worst I've had. I didn't even finish it. Glad I got a small. The coffee itself tasted nothing like caramel. It tasted like it was sour/like berries. If you're a coffee person like me, you know that taste can come from under extraction, stale beans, under roasted beans, improper water temp, etc. I hope this isn't the norm taste of their coffee. Can get a better tasting coffee from wawa

First time visitor to a formerly unknown coffee shop to me. Brit was very friendly and the coffee was great. Highly recommend.

Beautiful place but the staff member was completely rude from the moment we walked in the door. Spoke down to my wife and daughter. So sorry we were such an inconvenience to him. Slammed things, etc.
I wasn’t greeted and stood waiting with someone’s back to me :/ wound up leaving. Heard good things about the coffee but had bad taste in my mouth from service.

The atmosphere of the shop is great—it has a cozy, modern vibe that's perfect for both working or relaxing. The food was decent, but nothing extraordinary; it was good enough to complement the coffee, but it didn't stand out as something I'd rave about.
However, the customer service was a bit lacking. The staff wasn't particularly welcoming or approachable, which made the experience feel a little impersonal. A smile or a more friendly demeanor would have gone a long way in making the visit feel more inviting.

I generally enjoy Grit and their drinks, but as a semi-regular customer I have found that my order is never consistent in terms of taste. I get the same drink each visit, and it is either bitter or a different level of sweetness depending on who makes it, which leads me to wonder if there is some type of issue when it comes to recipes. Again, I love their coffee but I am often disappointed with what I get.

Went when it was pretty quiet, love the vibes! Had a phenomenal iced chai with regular milk (:

I absolutely love Grit! They nail both espresso-forward drinks as well as fun flavored lattes. I have to recommended the High Five. It is such a unique drink!

It was just okay. With all the other coffee shops in town, it’s hard to justify going back.

Just stopped by on a walk through the neighborhood, and had a mocha. It was one of the best I've had in town during our visit.
They also had plenty different coffee choices and even some pastries to purchase. The inside was a large space with plenty of seating. I would like to come back for another coffee later this week.

This is probably the best coffee shop in Williamsburg. It is spacious with a great coffee shop vibe, and it has plenty of tables -- both small tables and larger tables. The wifi is fast, and there are many power outlets. The espresso was very respectable (a solid 8.5 on a 1-10 scale). If I had one suggestion, it would be for this coffee shop to offer a larger selection of baked goods. But this is definitely a great coffee shop option for anyone in Williamsburg.

Grit is a fantastic coffee company out of Charlottesville, Virginia. This space is bright, clean, and easy for those in need of parking. The menu is pretty short with Teas and Coffees and a few breakfast sandwiches and pastries. It would be good to see that food menu grow a little.
I've been to at least four Grit locations around Virginia and it's fair to say that Williamsburg is the quietest of the bunch, despite the cacophonous challenge this location has with sound bouncing around the place. That said, it is also the best place to co-work or have a chat in mid-town.
As they grow, it's likely that this location will become a go-to for the remote workers among us.

Completely sterile cold atmosphere. I was the only customer an hour after opening on a weekday. A single employee working the counter. Horrible bitter Americano. I dumped half of it. Ordered medium but was pretty small. Expensive but less then Starbucks. Price doesn't matter though if the coffee isn't good.
