We’ve tried them several times now. It’s just OK. A little overpriced for what you get. Go to the coffee shop around the corner.

I love Illy. I must confess that I've only ever had coffee and their salted caramel gelato, which is heavenly btw. That's why it gets five stars.

I fell in love with illy espresso while visiting Italy over 20 years ago...and this location does not disappoint. Highly recommend the Cappuccino Viennese!

Service was excellent! Polite, friendly and helpful. Another customer had a special request for their drink and barista took time to understand and remake to her exact specifications.

Illy please fix your wifi. Also overpriced

Really expensive for 12oz “medium” lattes that were room temp. I’ll pass next time.

DEAD FLIES & MILDEW in food cases. This is THE filthiest food service establishment I’ve visited. I was there at 10:30am. The gelato was melted and gooey. There were dead flies in the gelato cooler. There was ALOT of mold inside the sandwich case as well as general funk in the front of the case. I searched for the health inspection grade but it was not posted. I’m trying to find where to post photos with this review. Mold & mildew take time to grow which is a sign of long term filth & not just being busy.

Stick to the great Italian espresso by Illy.. but stay away from cappuccino! If you want to serve a good one you need to train your barista on properly steaming and pouring the right amount of milk. What I got was a big boiling soup.

Visited Merchant Square on a very hot day in July and though we'd stop by for some gelato and air condition. Enjoyed the quaint atmosphere and the varying choices of gelato available. All the flavors we got were very good and cooled us down as needed. Also ended up getting a frappe and one of the bakery items. There isn't a substantial amount of seats, but there's enough as long as it's not busy. Overall a wonderful break from a long day of shopping and going through colonial Williamsburg. Will go back.

On our most recent visit, staff appeared completely unfamiliar with the menu. Our drinks were served in filthy glassware and nats followed us everywhere. Our questions about these conditions were met with blank stares. Do yourself a favor and patronize elsewhere.

THe guys behind the counter were funny. I just loved how they kindly teased me for asking for a frappe, which they don't make, It was awesome

I'm not sure how they prepare their sandwiches. When I wss there are 1230 yesterday they were out of the three items I wanted, but I had a pistichio sandwich which was two big pieces of bread, a slice of mozarella cheese, and some green stuff too. I through it out half way. Tasteless and too bready. I miss the old days when we had a corner and a middle Greeks restaurant which served real fresh food, and not this cutsy stuff.

Terrible service and overpriced food that tastes so awful even my dog won’t eat it. Got their ham and cheese croissant and paid 10.85 for it which they microwaved to make it warm. I have never paid that much for a disgusting sandwich. The coffee was awful as well. I had illy Coffee in Europe and they were not the same. Don’t go there. Got a coffee and 2 sandwich and a danish for $40. Like I said over priced and nasty. And the staff are rude as well.
