Miranda and Stephen put on an amazing show and the food was delicious. We were there for the last seating of the season and it was very special and full of joy! Loved the napkin situation.

Very bizarre. It was half authentic and half not. The waitress were dressed and spoke in the lingo but the hostess had an iPad. The food was not tasty at all. I had the stewed beef which was recommended and it was tough as hell. Would not go back!

Our King's Arms Tavern experience from fantastic from start to finish. We visit Williamsburg once a year from New Jersey and always eat at King's Arms. This year's experience was made even better by the great team of Miranda and Stephen. I will certainly request them when I made out next reservation. Miranda was especially delightful!
Outstanding staff and service from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely amazing. Every detail was thoughtfully done, making for a wonderful overall experience. Highly recommend.
The King's Arms Tavern is a dining experience that never disappoints. I have dined there over the years for decades, and the food is always historic AND delicious, the service wonderful, the atmosphere authentic and warm. This year's edition included a roasted half duck with their legendary peanut soup as a starter. The Sally Lund bread, for which they are famous, was complimented by something new - a ham spread on the relish tray that was a real compliment to the sweetness of the bread and the corn relish. Portions were ample and - by dessert - I opted for the Snow Eggs - a historic recipe picked up and adapted by Thomas Jefferson's chef/enslaved illegitimate son James Hemmings while in Paris. Basically meringue floating islands on custard, but the custard was studded with pecans, spices and then cloaked lightly in a wine sauce topper. Wonderful! No one should miss dining at the King's Arms when in Williamsburg.
Just good everything

When in Colonial Williamsburg you should eat in the taverns. Great food and atmosphere.

service was lovely and I enjoyed eating while learning about dining in colonial times. Best prime rib i’ve ever eaten! Pricey, but worth every penny!

Our family looks forward to dining here every time we come to Williamsburg. Stephen and Miranda provided both excellent service and interesting facts regarding the history of the tavern and colonial society.

Went for Christmas Dinner, which was a three course meal with a set program! The food was absolutely delicious and the program was very entertaining and informative! It is absolutely worth a visit, especially considering all of the other fun things to do in the historical district of Williamsburg.

Had reservations and treated my husband’s parents to dinner. Recommend making reservations through open table. Our server Kathy was lovely and very informative. We ordered the Onion pie, the Ham, the steak and salmon. All very delicious. For dessert we got the 2 snow eggs and pecan pie. 2 snow eggs is very light and sweet. A perfect way to end a lovely evening.

My husband and I had Christmas Dinner at King's Arms. We had the duck and the prime rib, both of which were fabulous. We had the onion and parsnip soup and the peanut soup and the bread pudding, our favorite dessert last time we ate there. Both soups were wonderful, but I think we both preferred the onion and parsnip just because of our personal tastes. The atmosphere was on point and we had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas. We had a performance from a musician who played the mandolin, which was delightful. We enjoy every meal we have at King's Arms and would recommend it to anyone wanting a cozy, delicious place to eat in Williamsburg.

As appealing and authentic as you can imagine with a reasonably diverse menu, plenty of adult beverage options, root beer, and both period and contemporary dessert choices. Our lovely in-costume waitress, Jennifer, was genuine, knowledgeable and very attentive (unobtrusively so). The menu cleverly explains each dish’s preparation as described from 1700’s recipe books. Lastly, a roaming guitarist/flautist was charming and added an extra dash of authentic acoustic flavor. Not cheap but NOT a Disney reproduction, or a run of the mill experience.
