Awesome bread and service! A few weeks ago I tried a new type of cilantro bread and it was delicious but a bit different. Ended up making French toast peanut butter sandwiches with it and it was amazing! Definitely can’t recommend these guys enough and I’ve never had a bad experience with them.

Eric went out of his way to deliver the bread we ordered to our resort on short notice when I botched the pick-up/delivery concept. And he was kind enough to give us some focaccia as an extra for our road trip back home to Rochester, NY. So A+++ for customer service.Now for the bread... O...M...G. If you appreciate clean food, real ingredients, nothing artificial--and the amazing flavors that can be created with them from a true artisan, then you absolutely must buy LOKAL bread. The sourdough and 7 grain were off the charts flavorful. And the aforementioned focaccia, just as good. Best of all, your body doesn't rebel afterwards as is so often the case with processed breads. It will be a sad day when the loaves are gone and we are left 500+ miles away :-(In the meantime, go support your mind, body and spirit and a good dude and get lots of LOKAL breads!

We saw their booth at the Old Beach Farmers Market and were really excited about the vegan bread scone and cookies.
Bread was salty and it's consistency was not bread (all holes and overdone). Scone was inedible. Balls of rosemary and salt studded throughout (it seems that it just wasn't mixed properly...)
The Cookies (chocolate chip and Oatmeal Coconut) were decent.
Lots of potential but poor execution resulting in a big disappointment.

Lokal was my favorite place to eat in Williamsburg and I miss it deeply. There is no other business in the area that pays so much attention to the provenance of the ingredients...and then makes such goodness with them. I'll be crossing my fingers for another cafe one day, but in the meantime, hope to time my visits to town to line with the farmer's market.

While the food was alright, the reason I will never eat at your establishment again or recommend it is because the young lady who brought us our drinks straight up lied to our faces about our drinks. She plainly said the drinks were Ginger Lemonade when she brought them to us. We told her we order plain Lemonade and suddenly she said that's what the drinks were. They were not. The overpowering taste of Ginger was very clear in the Lemonade and extremely unpleasant. I even went back inside and asked her directly if the drinks were Lemonade or Ginger Lemonade and she once again lied and said they were regular Lemonade. Very unhappy about being lied to, so unprofessional.

Updating an earlier review...this place has really grown on me. Some of the food is pretty mildly flavored, but I had the tofu scramble this morning, and it was really delicious! Happy to have this option in Williamsburg. One of my favorite spots now.
