Finally decided to give this place a try and we were not disappointed. Hubby and I were both craving bbq but unsure of what we wanted to order. Staff was super helpful in explaining the menu. One of them showed us a tray of their burnt ends fresh out of the kitchen and our minds were made up. We each got a 1/2 lb and opted for coleslaw with deviled egg salad added for hubby. The burnt ends were gorgeously glazed, tender, and absolutely delicious! I wish we weren't moving as we'd love to go back and try more of their food.

There is a reason this place is 4.5 stars+.They have good food that hits rights when you're hungry after a full day. Staff was very friendly and hopped right to explaining how the business works after saying "I've haven't been here before."The food was amazing, but as with all freshly cooked food, your experience may vary depending on the cook(s) on staff that day. In my opinion it is very worth it. It may be on the expensive side for a full family dinner but the flavor is worth it.Good vibes all around.

The brisket sandwich was absolutely delicious. I had them add some coleslaw on the sandwich plus some sweet and tangy bbq sauce to make it heaven. The Mac an cheese was good, my daughter ate it all. My wife liked her sausage sandwich. Three well fed and happy customers. There weren't many tables and there was a long line but it moved fast. Plenty of parking in the large lot.

Great food, best briskets! One of very few places that I can’t stop raving about! One of few places us locals can enjoy in a tourist town!

Went to matchstick BBQ on a Sunday evening. It was about eight 8:10 p.m. and they were out of barbecue ribs beef brisket and smoked turkey as well as one of the sausages. Ended up getting pulled pork sandwich and mac and cheese. Very nice portion of pulled pork on a fresh brioche bun. They have three barbecue sauce all made in-house. Nice touch with the marinated pickled onions and pickles on the side. The desserts looked very yummy. Very clean, engaging employees and owner very nice and friendly. I would highly recommend enjoying a meal or two at this locally owned and ran restaurant.

This is the best BBQ in Williamsburg, maybe the best I’ve ever had. Sandwiches, side dishes, sauces all delicious. You can sit inside at a booth or the bar, or outside when the weather warms up. The customer service is impeccable.

Outstanding brisket, burnt ends, pulled pork, potato salad and collards. Staff is extremely friendly and polite. Great atmosphere! Smoked wings with house dry rub are also very good!

First time eating here and it did not disappoint. Casual dining with the best ribs we’ve ever had! My wife loved the brisket and all the side were delicious. The key lime pie was also very good. To top it off, the service was amazing! Everyone was genuinely pleasant and welcoming which was a breath of fresh air.

This. Was. Delicious. $45 for two beers, a pound of insanely good wings (get the sweet sauce, the chili powder in it tastes divine), a sandwich with brisket, hot sausage, and pulled pork, plus four sides. The portions are easily big enough for multiple meals. Super friendly service, too-- we were given great recommendations by the staff for both food and beer.If you like mac n cheese that makes you feel guilty for eating it, get the mac n cheese. Creamy and simple, but such a classic vibe. Baked beans were exceptional. I'm not usually crazy about beans with green peppers, but they were great. The highlight for me was the smoked wings with the house made sweet sauce. Oh my god. Crunchy and sweet with a strong chili powder taste-- legit some of the best BBQ I've had in quite some time. Highly recommend!

We’ve had food from every other BBQ place in Williamsburg, so when we came back for another visit we decided it was time to try Matchsticks. The menu is pretty limited—a few meat choices, a few sandwiches and a few sides. My husband chose the brisket, I got the half chicken. He said the brisket was good, though a bit heavily seasoned for his liking. The chicken had a great flavor and was actually quite moist.

Melt in your mouth brisket, best pulled pork sandwich with seasoned toasted bun. And always friendly service like family! This place gets it all right.

Absolutely best decision to go here. We were on vacation from western NY. This was soooo delicious. People who worked there made us feel comfortable with a new place and food was so good. I could eat it everyday! My whole family loved it! Thank you and I wish we could have more! Go Bills!

My pictures says it all! The absolute most tender and flavorful barbecue you will ever enjoy. The sides are equally delish. Especially the lemon slaw.

Finally were able to visit after so many delays for these guys to open. Went in March and again this July. Everything we tried was fantastic. Matt and Troy have a great thing going for sure. It'll be a stop on every trip we make to Williamsburg!
