Consistently good food and service. The staff is top notch, personable and attentive, but never obsequious. Nitesh and Shivani are gracious hosts, always happy to suggest something new, but also know our favorite dishes without our having to remind them. Amiraj is definitely our go-to place here in Williamsburg, VA.
Highly recommend! Lamb vindaloo and the yogurt and plain naan were stand outs to me. I want to try the mango cheesecake next time. Service was impeccable and the interior design felt beautiful and comfortable.

My husband brought me to Amiraj for the the first time today and we absolutely loved our experience dining in. The atmosphere was stunning...The service was incredibly hospitable. The doom damaka and Amiraj's old fashioned was phenomenal...The spinach chaat...WOW. We had butter chicken and the surf and turf for mains which were delicious. We finished off with kulfi, warm gajer ka halwa and chai. (Almost cried) Thank you for having us and giving us a taste of home. Can't wait to go back!

Absolutely delicious! Everything was very fresh, and we loved the modern take on flavors. Our cocktails were also delicious, and we loved the ambiance.

Well lit, but soft, not harsh. Couches with pillows at our table added to our comfort and the ambiance.
The servers were knowledgeable and friendly, very service-minded and ready to answer questions or make suggestions.
The food was delicious and varied - chicken, vegetables, naan, rice, papri chaat, pistachio cake and mango cheesecake: each dish had full and distinct flavors that paired well together.
My favorite aspect, like a cherry on the whipped cream on the ice cream: I asked for tea; they knew I wanted black. Then I told them I'd take a pot on the table if they had and they did. No awkward response, no hesitation - they just brought me a full pot of hot tea on a cold night, and I was fully satisfied.

Service was super quick ! Ambience was great. One of the best Mango lassi -5/5. Lacha paratha was also good. Paneer makhani was good but didn’t feel authentic - 4/5. Gobi Manchuria - 5/5. Portions are huge. Lentil soup was bland - 4/5. Overall good food. Will surely visit again when in town.

Restaurantji Recommends
We ordered food from here yesterday, and unfortunately, it wasn’t very good. We drove 40 minutes to get there, which made the experience even more disappointing. We did not dine in,we ordered takeout. The rice tasted stale and clearly wasn’t fresh it was hard, dry, and tasted like it had rocks in it. The butter chicken barely had any chicken in it, it was mostly soupy,Overall, the quality did not meet expectations.

My party ordered chai teas 7/10 the Goat biriyani 8/10, chana masala 8/10 and palek paneer 10/10 as well as plain nan 8/10. All dishes were ordered as mild in spicyness. No complaints.

My omni husband and vegan son and I shared the onion bahji appetizer, then shared dahl tadka, bhindi, and the mushroom and asparagus dish. It was all incredibly good. The service was, too.
This is my new favorite restaurant - at least for delivery the food is delicious, generous portions that dont skimp on the veggies and other primary ingredients. I got a bowl with lentils and veggies that was amazing. Another with tofu and a delicious sauce. I added some bread on the side and since i got 2 meals they included a generous portion of rice as well, no extra charge.
Their website lists all the vegan and gluten free options on the menu clearly. Please dont change a thing about this place!

Just had a great dinner at Amiraj. Started with Shitaki Leek Tikki. Absolutely delicious. Followed up with a Naan Platter, Chutney dips, Lamb Biryani and yellow Daal. I liked that they asked for a heat level. Had level 2 for the daal which was a little much for this old, white lady. But they brought extra yougert sauce and that helped. Level one for the biryani, perfect. Enjoyed the meal with Sula Vineyards Chenin Blanc. Great meal!
