One of the best fish and chips. Hubby really liked the fish tacos also. Fantastic bar service and atmosphere. Thanks!! We'll be back.

Brittany was great!!! She served our party of 11 with ease! She definitely deserves recognition for her great service!!
If you’re anywhere near Williamsburg, do yourself a favor and go to Oceans & Ale. My fiancé and I are real foodies, and this place absolutely blew us away—so much so that we went back two more times in the same weekend. That alone should tell you everything.
Let’s start with the food:
Pork Osso Bucco – insanely tender, deeply flavorful, comfort food at its finest
12 oz Ribeye – perfectly cooked, juicy, and restaurant-quality in every bite
Mussels – chef-selected and honestly some of the best-tasting mussels we’ve had in a long time
She Crab Soup – AMAZING (yes, all caps necessary)
Seafood Mac – OMG. Rich, indulgent, and unforgettable
And here’s an insider tip you must know: ask for the “employee fries.” They’re more like hand-cut, restaurant-style fries and they are elite. Trust me.
Now for the service—because this is where Oceans & Ale truly shines. Our servers Trey and Terrell were absolutely special: warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited about the food. On top of that, the manager on duty both days, Brittnee G, came to our table and made us feel incredibly welcomed and appreciated. That kind of hospitality is rare and it shows how much pride this team has in what they do.
We honestly did not expect this level of food and service, and we were completely blown away. It is worth the drive, worth the hype, and worth every single bite. Oceans & Ale is the kind of place you keep thinking about long after the weekend is over—and we already can’t wait to go back.
Five stars, all day. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The food was delicious, the seafood nachos were great, and our server Brittany was a great combination of fast, efficient, and fun! Great time all around, highly recommend!

The atmosphere and bartender were great. It took an absolutely ridiculously amount of time for my meal to arrive. It was mid at best and the proportions were very small.

Brussel Sprouts were flavorless and tasted like cardboard. Fish tacos were cold cubed fish over dry cabbage. Staff was lovely but food was a huge disappointment.

We have been to the old location many times so excited to try the new location on Monticello. It was a Friday night and we waited 10 minutes, it’s also February off season. The place was pretty empty and plenty of seats. The wait staff was over kill for the amount of people there.
We ordered a French dip and an asian chicken salad With she crab soup. It took over 30 minutes for our food to be served. The food was good and no complaints but the time we waited was not worth it. That’s a long wait for an empty off season full staffed restaurant.

The food was good, but the service is what stood out most. Trey was knowledgeable, checked in at the right times, and made us feel comfortable throughout the meal. The overall experience felt elevated because of his professionalism and easygoing personality. Definitely one of the better service experiences I’ve had in Williamsburg. I’d happily come back and request him again.

This is another over rated restaurant. I ordered the seafood pot pie. I am thinking of a real pot pie coming. Nope I got a small skillet of seafood with gravy with a piece of pastry puff bread on top. Not the crisp crust of a pot pie. This was actually a seafood stew with a piece of bread on top. I will never eat here again. Food was not that good.

We had an amazing experience at Oceans and Ale, especially considering our plans came together at the very last minute. Ashley was absolutely incredible—she handled the coordinating of our work event/dinner for 12 people with ease, made sure everything was coordinated smoothly, and somehow pulled it all together so we could just show up and enjoy the night. We come to Oceans and Ale often and just as always the service throughout the evening was top notch, the food was delicious, and the drinks were perfectly made. Highly recommend renting the private dining and special events room if you are looking to have dinner and drinks with a larger group and want space. Every detail felt taken care of, and our whole group left impressed. Huge shoutout to Ashley and the team for turning a last-minute plan into such a great night.

I attended a private event in the private dining room at Oceans & Ale, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The Michter’s bourbon pairing was thoughtfully done and complemented the meal perfectly.
The meal was clearly prepared with care and attention to detail.
The private dining space was comfortable and ideal for the event, and the service throughout the evening was attentive without being intrusive. A special shout-out to Ashley, she was engaging, professional, and helped make the night truly memorable. Oceans & Ale absolutely delivered on food, atmosphere, and experience. Highly recommend.

I stop in to Oceans and Ale every now and then. But recently I decided to attend their bourbon dinner night, which they hold in their private dining room. They had a Michters representative give us history lesson on their bourbon along with a variety of tastes. The dinner prepared for us was absolutely delicious. At the end of the meal, the cook came out and told us that every course was prepared with one of the bourbons. It was a heart idea. I had a lot of fun. Thanks to the staff for putting this on and the excellent service.

Been going there for years. Usually I am okay with price increases as I understand it happens however they just went up over 25% overnight
A burger was $19.00 a salad was $23.00
Now I just got back from a ski trip and the prices for food at Stratton ski resort were actually less expensive than oceans and ale. I get price increases but it is definitely over the top
