Food was pretty good. I had the smoked brisket. It wasn't bad. My boyfriend had the St. Louis Ribs which were also pretty good but missing the rib tip. That's a big part of the St. Louis rib. The booths were 100 years old and we sank so far in, it felt like we were sitting on the floor.....and no, we are not overweight. We couldn't wait to get out of there and now we both need to see the chiropractor.
This isn't an old school BBQ, more of an updated version on items. Good food, good service but not quite what we expect from with the name Old City BBQ. A tiny bit pricier than most.
Calling it in a barbecue place maybe a little stretch. Any sauce they had was very thin and really no tomato base to it. Really nothing was bad but was a little strange. I do have to say that I really couldn't eat the pulled chicken sandwich with coleslaw since they had soaked the bread with so much liquid from the coleslaw it was just mush. But the bottom line is don't go there for standard BBQ since it is a bit off from "normal" BBQ. We will not be going...
