This cafe is more like a deli… prepackaged sandwiches and other food. The food was ok, but the sandwiches were rather dry. The glass bottled root beer and ginger cookies were good.

Stopped in for a pretzel roll and hot chocolate. Discovered that they no longer sell pretzel rolls. The peppermint hot chocolate was flavorful, but served lukewarm. My husband got a ham biscuit for $10 that was chewy and had a strange flavor.

Overall, we spent $18 for two cookies, a lukewarm drink, and a subpar biscuit.

It makes me very sad to leave a bad review. I was at the bakery December 22nd and bought a bakers dozen of gingercakes and was VERY disappointed. Every one of them were as hard as rocks and unedible. What a waste of money. 🙁

Wow is this place overpriced! A pre made bad looking sandwich is $11. You better be starving with deep pocket to go here.Avoid

Lackluster in off-season. I'm sure it's better during special events. They only had pre-packaged muffins and cookies available. Service was nice, though!

Delicious food! Service is a bit slow but worth it. Would recommend taking the food you get and eating in Williamsburg!

Disappointing experience. There is little choice for breakfast /lunch at the Capitol end of Williamsburg but something from a Bakery sounds great. But in fact all they have are a few muffins and cookies, a small choice of pre packaged sandwich rolls like you get in a gas station and coffee from a dispenser. And all so expensive for what little it is. The courtyard out back is a pleasant enough location to eat, but the food and. Offer options could be so much better - just see how very much better the coffee shops in and near Merchant Square are at the other end of town.

Great coffee and warm ham biscuits! And of course you HAVE to get a CW root beer when you’re there!

Sandwich costs are a bit high, as are add-ons like chips. The sandwich was good, but no different than a gas station cold cut sandwich. Was the only place open on this end of Colonial area at 2pm on a Sunday, so we were stuck with it (everyone was hungry!). Not to satisfied paying $48 for 2 sandwiches, some chips and sodas and one muffin! Disappointing.
The outside seats/picnic tables is fine and somewhat shaded, so that was nice.

We enjoyed the freshly baked signature cookies, still warm. The courtyard, surrounded by blooming trees, had a lovely atmosphere.

Colonial Williamsburg tradition - brick oven ginger cake cookies and a glass bottle root beer. Great seating area / picnic tables in the back and side. The actual oven and bakery is in the back of the front building in the street.

Although the CW website says the Raleigh bakery is "dog friendly" the staff thought they were doing me a favor by letting me walk through with my dachshund.
