A very friendly diner. SHORTY met us at the door and helped us get seated. The food was delicious. Our waitress was a real sweetheart We will definitely go again when in Williamsburg.

Their service was outstanding! Their atmosphere was good! Their food was okay.
I believe Shorty stopped by our table and our server claimed she has been there since the beginning. The server was a darling and went way over and above to make my 79 year old mom happy (and she can be a pill sometimes!).
The place was hopping busy at 10:45 as has been documented.
As mentioned in other reviews the pancakes are quite large and my mom had to get the rest of hers to go. I ordered a burger and it was okay. The fries are ok, nothing special.

We got an order to go. The food was greasy. The pancakes were rubbery. No syrup. Missing an order of grits. Requested Splenda and did not get any. We got sugar instead, which diabetics can't use. We had a large order of pancakes and 4 pieces of toast and they only gave us 3 little butters. Missing stuff is one thing but when the food is unbeatable that is unexceptable. We have eaten there before and it was good, but now it is truly disgusting. We called them and they said we could come back and get Missing items. Food would of been cold and greassy then. Please do not go!

Hadn't been to Shorty's for several years. It's gone down hill !! The service was marginal, as was the food. Sat without coffee foe awhile, even though there were only 2 of us in the Diner !! I went to take the ketchup bottle & the pepper shaker came with it, STUCK TOGETHER WITH MAPLE SYRUP !! The waitress said they fill the containers on Sunday, but are supposed to clean them daily. Wel, l they hadn't since EVERY container was sticky,

This is by far my favorite diner. The waitresses are especially friendly and personable, to the degree that if I were going to manage a restaurant I would take my staff there for training and instruct them to treat their patrons in EXACTLY the same way Shortys staff does. It is obvious there are many long-time local customers who get hugs and if not busy, the staff will sit down with them for a quick chat. The food is very good.

While visiting Williamsburg, we discovered Shorty’s Diner — what a great local find! Friendly service, clean and cheerful space, and really tasty breakfast. I love fluffy biscuits with Virginia country ham and Shorty’s was wonderful. We definitely will be back on future visits.
Best place I’ve eaten from New York to Florida. Shout out to Angie. She is the best waitress I’ve ever had. Food is reasonably priced and pancakes are giant. Restaurant is like a family.

We chose this restaurant for my birthday breakfast. Apparently it is a locals place because it was packed with families and people of all ages. The servicer was friendly and prompt when we arrived and the coffee was good and hot. Unfortunately the food was not hot when it arrived, the pancakes were not crusty like I like them but they "were bigger than my head" like the waitress promised.

Nice place. Went there on a monday at noon. Even though it was crowded we were seated quickly (there was four of us). Our server was awesome and made some great recomendations. I had their catfish sandwich which was cooked perfectly. Again, even though it was busy we received our food quickly. It was very tasty. If you're in the area it's worth the stop.
