Dylan did a Beautiful on my husband’s birthday cake. My husband loves carrot cake, and the carrot cake from Small Cakes is the best tasting carrot cake, I have ever had. The cake moist and simply just delicious!🎂. While I was in Small cakes, there was another couple that stopped by to thank DylAn for the cake he made for a wedding. They also said the wedding cake was delicious!
Full disclosure: I don't really care much for cupcakes.
THIS PLACE CHANGED THAT!!!
We picked up a grab-box of 6 random cupcakes and just shared our first two, a chocolate birthday and a strawberry - and OMG!!!
My normal objection to cupcakes is that it's sugar on sugar on syrup on...well, you get my drift: They're sickeningly sweet.
Not here! The cake is jam-packed with flavor, NOT sugar, and is well balanced with the sweetness of the buttercream topping.
The chocolate is, hands down, the best chocolate cake I've ever had; moist, rich, deep chocolate flavor with just a hint of sweet.
The strawberry cake leaves me with just one word: WOW!
I finally see what all the fuss over cupcakes is about 😀
Awesome variety of delicious cupcakes. Did have a lot of icing, but was good.
Frosting not as good as expected, cupcake was ok.
We ordered a 6-inch heart shaped cake online for a small gathering for my daughter's birthday. Ordering online was so easy. We included her photo inspiration from Pinterest. We were so pleased! The cake was so beautiful and so delicious! I would definitely recommend them for ease of access in ordering, ability to deliver on what was requested, every interaction was so friendly, and the cake was so good! My daughter took so many pictures and was so pleased.
Stopped in after picking up dinner. I got the last Boston creme and one of the coconut. My goodness, what a great treat on my cheat day. lol fresh and delicious.
Stopped in on impulse for my birthday and so glad I did! Everything looked so good! I had the peanut butter cup and it was amazing! The frosting was soooo good and the chocolate cupcake itself was sinful! My husband had the Boston Crème and he said it was delicious! Picked up some pup cakes for my dogs too !Service was excellent and friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I will be going back sooner than later!

Moist cake, good icing thats not too sweet and in just the right amount. Creative flavors too. And I confirmed with the owner/operator that they don't use palm oil, which is great. I really like this place.

I want to love this place more because it's local, but it has been challenging. They do a good job with a variety of icings, but the cupcakes themselves are pretty basic (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry). I'd love more creative choices on the cake itself. However, if you're into icings..this may be your place. Staff are usually knowledgeable on ingredients, but they seem unsure sometimes and that's a bit of an issue for me due to certain allergies that aren't your standard peanut, dairy, etc.

Update - I just want to acknowledge the thoughtful and very quick response from Smallcakes management. The response was very thorough and addressed my concerns. I truly appreciate the clarification on the cakes and look forward to future creations!
I ordered a custom gluten-free cake for my wife's birthday and it was fantastic! Finding GF options can be difficult, and it's always a bummer when they fall flat (like 70% of the time), so I had a lot riding on this birthday. My wife only discovered her allergy later in life, so she knows all about the joys of gluten! Still, everyone at the party thought the cake was delicious and I was very happy with my purchase. We got a vanilla cake with a blueberry-lemon frosting. Again, we are a family that is not fooled by poor GF options: this was simply a tasty cake that was also gluten free! Brian was easy to communicate with throughout the whole process and I felt very comfortable as the birthdate drew closer.

We are from Wisconsin and my daughter's 8th grade class went on a field trip to Washington, D.C./Williamsburg and while she was there, she was celebrating her 13th birthday. I wanted to surprise her so I emailed Smallcakes to see if they could deliver a cupcake order to her hotel. They emailed me back promptly and then followed up with a call and the gentleman, Dylan, was really nice when taking my order. They got the order delivered to the hotel so it was waiting for my daughter when her class arrived and they loved the cupcakes. Sadly, I don't have pictures because they apparently ate them right away! If I ever make it to the Williamsburg area, I definitely intend to stop at Smallcakes and try their cupcakes for myself. Appreciate the quick response, timely delivery and friendly customer service. Would recommend them for sure!

Customer service was horrible, got there to order some cupcakes for a birthday and the lady was super rude, I asked for some advice on flavors and all she can said was You have to send a email to the owner , explain to her that my time during the week is very limited, and all she said was You have to sent an email to the owner again with No kindness, or you have to look like a rich person to get better customer service. ( and don’t have a accent)

These were SO good- we did a family taste test and every flavor was a hit (the carrot and lemon were the winners)
