The room is much smaller than what they used to have dedicated to this service. Therefore the tables are closer together. On the day we were there. It was only about half-full, so we had no problems in that regard. Otherwise, the space is nicely decorated and comfortable. Michael, our waiter, was prompt, helpful, and friendly. He anticipated many needs and was responsive and thoughtful. He meets the high expectations one would have at this kind of facility and price point. The food was fresh, well-prepared and, at times, imaginative/ innovative. There was a good selection and all of the various dishes ordered at my table came out right, and were delicious. The coffee is abysmal so, if you like good coffee, it's best to avoid it here. The orange juice was thick and fresh, not thin and watery as it often is in restaurants. The poached eggs and omelets were textbook perfection. It was very nice to have a selection of usual things with optional regional twists. There also was a good array to meet everyone's dietary considerations. I do think the food is much more consistent and enjoyable than it has been the last few years. I give it a solid A.

Amazing breakfast and delicious gluten free accommodations! This is always a favorite while in Colonial Williamsburg.

We were sadly underwhelmed with the quality of the food which came out of the restaurant's kitchen. The entree's were somewhat bland and not served hot as we would expect from such a highly rated and historic venue. The service was impeccable, attentive but unobtrusive. The restaurant itself is quite beautiful; stately, quiet, tables well spaced to allow privacy for guests. The dessert (chocolate dome) was shared by all 4 of us which was more than sufficient to satisfy even the most addictive chocolate lovers needs. Good company always makes for a satisfying evening even if the food was not as amazing as we thought it would be. We will not recommend this venue to friends based on our experience (if asked). However, if you want to impress company or businessmen with an elegant, historic, romantic venue; The Williamsburg Inn will absolutely meet those requirements. Just don't expect the food to knock anyone's socks off.

The fish was over poked and tasteless. They exchanged it for another entree which was okay, nothing special.

Hostess manager wore a mask and we weren't able to understand her with the obstruction. Service was excellent, but the food was below average - especially for the price. Truffle Fries were inedible - tasted mushy and freezer burnt. Skirt steak was good, burgers were below average.

Very loud table of nine destroyed the atmosphere. They should have been ushered to a private room or asked to be civil. Bill was very confusing. I was required to pay in advance. The menu at the table had a different fixed price. Then the bill I was asked to verify had yet a different price than I had pre-paid or that was noted on the menu.

Everything was perfect from the ambience, to the servers, to the extraordinary quality of the meal, to the wine pairing to make the dinner a memorable experience. Thank you

Extremely limited menu for a mother's day lunch. What's that said? Not only was it small, but the type of foods that were there were not something that many people would eat. I had a seizure salad with shrimp, and the salad was entirely wilted and not something that any restaurant would serve.Nor would the end of ten years ago have served such a lunch. Quality has gone down from years ago. Yeah, the prices have gone up and are definitely not worth it.

Overall the restaurant was beautiful, the food for was a bit pricey for the taste. Too many different flavors on one dish.

My husband had the duck and said it was very tender and very good. I had the chicken piccata and it was very good and a lots of it. The servers were so personable and excellent!!! As usual, it was a very special evening.

We had a wonderful evening at the Williamsburg Inn/Terrace Room last night. Michael took wonderful care of us. Our entree's were delicious and Janet, Lilly, and Trayvon made us feel like VIPs. Thanks so much!

The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, with an elegant atmosphere that immediately sets the tone for a high-end dining experience. The staff were attentive and professional throughout the evening, which added to the overall sense of care and refinement. There were some standout dishes. My husband thoroughly enjoyed both his salad and the vegetable chowder, noting that they were flavorful and well-prepared. However, I was disappointed with the preparation of the redfish, which was cut into small, thin pieces and served with the skin left on—something I didn't find particularly appetizing. While the accompanying tossed salad with peas and the overall flavor of the dish were good, the dish felt underwhelming and not very satisfying. The ribeye also fell short of expectations, as it contained quite a bit of gristle, which detracted from what should have been a premium cut of meat. Overall, while the ambiance and service were excellent, the execution of some key dishes left room for improvement.
