The staff is amazing from the evening crew who checked us in to the lovely woman who checked us out! The hotel itself needs updates badly ! No air in the hallways or elevators- dark creepy feeling in hallways and dirty rooms! Lucky for management for the kind staff they have or the hotel would only have one star! Again - thank you staff for being wonderful hopefully Marriott appreciates you and improves your hotel so you don’t have to put up with unhappy customers!

We recently visited this hotel. It was early July and 90+ degrees outside. The air conditioner in the hallways and in our room was broken. The people at the front desk were very friendly when we complained and eventually moved us to a new room, but not until after one night of completely suffering. This hotel is fine, but not up to typical Courtyard standards. The A/C definitely needs work.

DO NOT BOOK!!! Terrible service. Pool was down our whole stay from 06/29 to 07/03. I specifically booked this hotel because it has an indoor and outdoor pool with jacuzzi. Pool was down the complete stay and the hotel didn't offer anything for the inconveience such as a free breakfast. I paid full price even though the amenties that were promised was not able to be utilized. Things were so bad me and my family decided to go home a day earlier (we were not refunded for the day we left early). I was told by staff that a message will be sent to the manager and to expect a call 07/03. No call. I reached out 3 times but I still have not heard anything back. There are multiple hotels in that area that are cheaper and provide better service and even free breakfast. Terrible experience.

This hotel is old, outdated and very dirty. They advertise having a pool but we got there and was told pool was down for maintenance. There were hairs in the bathroom and on bedding when we checked in. The TV didn't work. Room was hot and bed sheets made us itch. I only stay at Marriott and Hilton properties. This is the worst Marriott I have ever stayed in.

First, will say that I think a number of hotels in the area need renovations and updating. In my search most of them looked pretty old. So this Courtyard looked to be the best of limited options. Our stay here wasn’t very good. When we arrived our room wasn’t ready and it was 3p and the cleaning staff was supposed leave work by 330p. Then the pool was out of order, the side entry door was broken, no AC in the hallway, the refrigerator was not cold, and they didn’t have any clean bath towels. I feel like this was a waste of money booking a stay here. I wanted to change hotels but we are here only a short stay so I won’t be coming back and Marriott will hear about this.

This place is not a 4-star rated hotel. Simply not. Not even a 3. Sorry, but this place is a dump - old, dirty, outdated (popcorn ceiling, yellow walls, old carpet that smells like a pile of sweaty football socks). I've read over some of the previous low rated reviews and agree with most of them. The GM obviously doesn't pay housekeeping staff enough to stay around or do their job effectively because some rooms are simply NOT cleaned at all between guests. You may find crumbs or hair on the bedsheets (like I did), so it seems there's a good chance you'll be sleeping on the same sheets the last guest slept on. Unsanitary and disgusting! As far as amenities, they have none. The "fitness center" is a small, dusty room with a few old treadmills that barely work, and when I went into the pool area, the bleach smell was so strong, it made my eyes water. I can't imagine what it would do to your skin. Although I didn't see any during my stay, it's worth noting that at least 3 previous posts within the past year mention bed bugs. Overall, I would say to read through previous low reviews before deciding to stay at this hotel, and take high reviews with a grain of salt. You've been warned.

What a great place to stay!! Everything was clean. The staff was always smiling and willing to help. The pool was clean as well as the grounds. Perfect location. In-between colonial williamsburg and 5 minutes from busch gardens. The only thing i wished they had was a free breakfast or a cheaper menu. Starbucks prices were too expensive., but had a great experience beyond that. Can't wait to come back!

By far the worst Marriott property we have stayed in. Dated decor that fell out of the 70s. No hot breakfast included, and when you’re paying $130/night, and every other Marriott has breakfast included, it’s a little ridiculous. The pool is nice, the location is convenient, the showers are hot, and the staff is amazing/friendly. Off to Hardee’s for breakfast, now.

This Courtyard by Marriott was completely sub-par compared to other Courtyard properties, which is unexpected in a tourist town like Williamsburg. Puzzled by the positive reviews - are there renovated/unrenovated rooms and the positive reviews are regarding renovated rooms? But we unfortunately had a sad, aged, depressing room that is in dire need of complete renovation. To flush the toilet, the toilet handle needed to be held down. When we used the sink, the toilet gurgled! The mini fridge was dirty and gross. The ceiling panels were dirty and old. The television was an ancient one and only had local channels. While in the bathroom we could hear our neighbor using the bathroom and could hear his toilet flushing. The tiny depressing exercise room had 1 treadmill, 1 elliptical and 1 weight bench with filthy ceiling panels. The hot tub and pool were old but clean enough that we entered both. The lobby furniture is worn and needs replacing. We checked out after 1 night and were fortunate to move to another nearby Marriott property. The staff were very nice and hardworking.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff very friendly. My only issue was that the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. It was one of the worst nights of sleep ever. It was rock hard and the blankets were very thin. I was uncomfortable all night and woke up with awful back pain.

Customer service and food here is surprisingly delicious! Shenise was my server and cook and makes the meanest grilled cheese I’ve ever had! (I’m kind of a grilled cheese connoisseur haha)
