Two employees were a bit snooty. The women who cashed us out and the girl taking our sandwich order. Just not friendly at all.

Amazing cheese and meat selection. My go to spot every time I for the best meat and cheese selection in Williamsburg. I have been coming to the Cheese Shop off since 2002. The food and atmosphere keep me coming back every time I am in town.

The Cheese Shop needs to revaluate who they hire. There is one woman in particular that is older than most of the junior staff, and she was incredibly rude to my mother and I when we tried to check out. We didn’t understand how the line worked, and she quickly got frustrated with my mom, to the point that she threatened to take back our sandwiches?? It escalated so fast that I was in complete shock, she just wouldn’t stop being rude and was extremely unprofessional. It’s clear this place knows it’s busy and doesn’t care about the customers. Well that’s cool, keep people like that in your business and you will soon no longer have one. Never coming back here!

I’m honestly confused as to why this place is always touted as a “must stop” when visiting Williamsburg. The shop is small, overcrowded and difficult to navigate especially with little kids. The sandwiches are nothing special — they don’t even toast the bread!

In addition, the staff is incredibly rude. Because the shop was so crowded, I took our 2 small children outside while my husband waited for our sandwiches. As my husband finally made his way to pay for our food he informed the clerk that in addition to our sandwiches we also had 2 cups of water (that were free) and 2 bags of chips. I had these items outside with me, as my children were snacking during the wait. The clerk proceeded to yell at my husband that all food items are to remain in the store until they are paid for; we were sitting outside in their patio area AND my husband told them which items we had. My husband responded by saying that his kids were outside because it was very crowded and we were trying to make room. The clerk further scolded him and said, “I certainly hope they’re not outside by themselves.” My husband said they were outside with his wife, but was embarrassed to be reproached in front of entire shop of customers.

We will never go back and would not recommend this place.

Grabbed the roast beef sandwich at 4pm today- for $11, not worth it. The bread and meat were good, but as you can see, there’s barely any meat on the bread. Rather disappointed with the quality with them having such high ratings.

If you want to receive awful service and be disrespected and screamed at by staff, this is the place to go to!

Excellent service down in the wine cellar and up in the shop! Plenty of wine and gift options and fresh deli food!

Loved the food and atmosphere here right next to the historic town center! The variety of sandwiches and cheese snacks options suits everyone. Will come back again when visiting the area next time!

I had heard for years that this place was delicious. I finally tried it and it was!!! We went on a Sunday around noon. The line was out the door. I would suggest hitting them after lunchtime. The line died down considerably. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside at the round tables on dog street with our pups!

Fun place for a beer that’s open all day. They have a variety of beers as well as many other snack and light meal options. We just had beers after strolling through town.
