, it's all around a wonderful stop while in williamsburg, virginia, great selection, great service, you can sit in the front and shade. Our Sun enjoy a beverage of choice from inside the cheese shop or the wine cellar below quite enjoyable.
Everyone I know loves The Cheese Shop, but I didn't get the hype. The bread on my sandwich was good, but it was still a bland sandwich and the dipping sauce just so-so.
We absolutely love this spot in Merchant's Square. It's a consistent go-to every time we visit from Virginia Beach. They have a great variety of specialty foods, a grear wine cellar and their sandwich shop is awesome. There's plenty of seating as well. We love to sit outside and enjoy the sights.
Great charcuterie boards. Really enjoyed time there and eating on the patio. A favorite place every trip to town.
Fun selection of food, snacks, beverages and sandwiches. Outdoor seating was pleasant in early September.
Just all great stuff.
First of all, I went to the tea shop, and I asked what kind of cheese they had and she said hundreds. Then I asked her what smoky kind of cheese she had and she told me some but it was like she had an attitude. I am blind. It is your job to tell me things, and read me things. We ordered a few cheeses and then when we got to the register, I noticed there was a basket of cheese, and I said what is this she said those are odds and ends. Why wouldn’t she just tell me that she had odds and ends when they don’t have samples. Next I went to the case where they had drinks, I asked someone to read me what kind of tea they had she said we have lots of tea I said, can you please read them to me she read me four different flavors to me. Four flavors is not lots of tea. My boyfriend came over and said they were like 9 to 10 flavors of tea, which he proceeded to read to me. Then the worst thing ever I went to the wine shop downstairs to find a dessert wine. I asked an employee to show me where they were. He said over there I said, can you please put my hand on the bottle he did when I picked the bottle up there was a domino effect and one no fell. The employees were too busy doing side work to help me and read me the bottles of wine I am blind it is their job. One of the managers, then proceeded to tell me none of the wine people were working and that I broke a $50 of wine and wasn’t going to purchase it. I said well you know I wouldn’t have broken it if you’re employee could’ve rubbed me the bottle she said we don’t have time to read bottles. Obviously this is terrible customer service for blind people terrible. I ended up buying bottles of wine and we left but it was an awful awful experience. I say go somewhere else never go to the shop they don’t know how to treat blind people and they do not follow American disability act rules is awful. I ended up spending at least $150 there anyway, but they were not nice or friendly at all, don’t frequent the shop. There’s other places you can go to
Had a wonderful meal two weeks ago as always. Quality of ingredients and atmosphere is amazing, never a sandwich I wouldn’t pick from. Nice selection of wine as well!
