If I could give it 0 I would. Waitress basically ignored us. Steak gorgonzola is flavorless. Boiled not sauteed vegetables and meat. Salad is literally a handful of greens and 4 small tomatoes. Mashed potatoes are made ahead and not even warmed up. Tourist Trap.

Food was super good but there was a very drunk person at the bar and when I mentioned they were disturbing our meal the bartender was so rude. Awful attitude

The food at The Hound’s Tale is, well, for the dogs. The steak gorgonzola was overcooked and lacked either taste or seasoning. Service was fair. Drinks, well, just OK.

We made reservations for a group of 10 for dinner. We arrived and were promptly seated. Seems like a very cool place , good dog themed vibe. That is where it fell apart. We all ordered drinks.. after the drink order was put in we were ready to order our dinners. We all ordered dinners. After the dinner order was placed, we also asked for Waters for everybody since our drinks still haven't arrived (it had been about 15 minutes). Another 15 minutes went by, still no drinks, and some of the food started coming out. With several of the dinners the sides (Fries potatoes, etc were cold). The duck was way overcooked and was sent back. The rest was average. We finally received our drinks after the dinners had arrived, after the drinks were distributed, we finally got our Waters....The entire group was unimpressed with the food... Because of our large group, 20% was added to the tab for service... We did not receive 20% level service.

In town for a couple days. Unfortunately we have not had the best dining experience. That was until we found this place. What a great place to visit. The atmosphere was awesome and the food was so good. Then there was our server Zandria. She was very friendly. We very much enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant.

I assume this place isn't famous for its hot dogs, but still one of the best I have ever had. My girlfriend has the grilled chicken tiika masala, it's not the flavors we expected, but it is made with coconut rice, so it is a little sweet. However, we both agreed it was very very good. Overall I 100% recommend this place.

Very cute place! The food and drinks were OK but the atmosphere was perfect. Dogs everywhere, just the way I like it!

Everything was delicious we returned the next night for more. Duck, lamb chops, burger, alligator bites, and the drinks all leave you smiling and craving more. We set at the bar and the young lady was friendly attentive and knowledgeable.

We actually visited "The Barkery," the bar on the corner, adjacent to The Hound's Tale &, I assume, operating under the same name. The Barkery is essentially a gift shop with a bar, & we were okay with that. The selection of beer was thin (Yuengling & Coors Light) but the bartender Hannah was fantastic & the locals at the bar were incredibly fun & friendly. Our dog was welcomed inside the bar/store, so we were inclined to stay a little longer, a break from the heat & humidity of the outdoor dog-friendly places. The food menu was from The Hound's Tale, & an excellent pasta dish was delivered to my husband at the bar. We also bought a cute wall-sign that made us laugh. What a fun & interesting place to spend a couple of hours!

We didn't get to eat there due to having a large party of 5, but as soon as you walk in, there's a very strong urine smell. I understand it's a dog-friendly place, which I love. However, there is a very strong odor. If you're new to the restaurant, that would catch you off guard and make you question if you want to eat there.
Another highly recommended spot in Williamsburg! I was happily surprised with the amount of options you have at the Hound’s tale, and we ordered the bison hanging tenderloin and the 16oz cowboy ribeye. The ribeye was tender and juicy, but had a bit more of a salt crust than I like. The bison hanging tenderloin was the star of the show. The Demi glaze melted with the meat creating a nice balance in flavor.

Small, cozy restaurant in Colonial Williamsburg. Took our 3 kids there. We did the whole shabang; apps, drinks, meal and desserts. From the top, apps are filling and decent. Pretzel is enormous and takes up much needed tummy room for the entree. The Charcuterie board is a beautiful presentation but lacks a sophisticated flare. Entrees are where the magic happens. My table got duck, bison, crab cakes, hamburger and sea food pasta. The bison takes 1st place, duck for 2nd, crab cakes for 3rd, hamburger for 4th and seafood pasta to round things up. For the pasta, just too much penne. The bison and duck are lick your plate in public amazing. Kids got root beer float and 2 skillet cookie cakes, which were so yummy. Drinks are so creative and perfect for the seasons. Expensive. Be ready. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

We ate here on July 4th prior to the fireworks. Mark provided excellent service. The cocktails are delicious and hearty. The entrees are fantastic. Dessert beverages are delicious. They are very kid and pooch friendly. You’ll love this place.
