We didn't get to eat there due to having a large party of 5, but as soon as you walk in, there's a very strong urine smell. I understand it's a dog-friendly place, which I love. However, there is a very strong odor. If you're new to the restaurant, that would catch you off guard and make you question if you want to eat there.

Another highly recommended spot in Williamsburg! I was happily surprised with the amount of options you have at the Hound’s tale, and we ordered the bison hanging tenderloin and the 16oz cowboy ribeye. The ribeye was tender and juicy, but had a bit more of a salt crust than I like. The bison hanging tenderloin was the star of the show. The Demi glaze melted with the meat creating a nice balance in flavor.

Small, cozy restaurant in Colonial Williamsburg. Took our 3 kids there. We did the whole shabang; apps, drinks, meal and desserts. From the top, apps are filling and decent. Pretzel is enormous and takes up much needed tummy room for the entree. The Charcuterie board is a beautiful presentation but lacks a sophisticated flare. Entrees are where the magic happens. My table got duck, bison, crab cakes, hamburger and sea food pasta. The bison takes 1st place, duck for 2nd, crab cakes for 3rd, hamburger for 4th and seafood pasta to round things up. For the pasta, just too much penne. The bison and duck are lick your plate in public amazing. Kids got root beer float and 2 skillet cookie cakes, which were so yummy. Drinks are so creative and perfect for the seasons. Expensive. Be ready. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

We ate here on July 4th prior to the fireworks. Mark provided excellent service. The cocktails are delicious and hearty. The entrees are fantastic. Dessert beverages are delicious. They are very kid and pooch friendly. You’ll love this place.

We've been here twice and we sat at the bar both times. The bar manager makes amazing drinks and everything is fresh. She has come up with some really good combinations, my favorite being the pear martini drink, but I can’t remember the actual name. The bar manager was there both times I went and she always asks about special requests, like sweetness or spice level. It's so nice to have high quality drink options made with fresh ingredients and well thought out flavour combinations. We order different drinks and share them so we have tried several already- we’ve liked them all and I’m pretty picky. The flatbread crust is also on point, and it’s a pretty decent size for the price. This is my favourite bar spot so far in Williamsburg.

An honest review - The service and the staff’s attention to customers is 5/5, excellent. BUT… the food is a JOKE! Rice cakes have more flavor than the food here. Very bland. Not worth the money at all.

This place is amazing 👏🏻. My husband and I tried it for the first time today as soon as we opened the door we were greeting by the host who immediately checked on a table for us. A server then came around the corner and greeted us as well. We were seated quickly and the server Lucie immediately came up to our table to say hi and get our drink orders. She got them quickly and took our order right after. She was attentive bringing us refills, extra sauce, checking on our food, and bringing us boxes. This is the best restraunt experience we have had in 4 years. Great atmosphere with funny pictures of dogs on the walls, but very calm vibe. We will definitely add this restraunt to our rotation for when we visit williamsburg.

The food here is really good, and they have gluten free options but I’d like to see more. The outdoor seating is super nice but the inside feels too “fancy” for a midday walk in. But, the staff is so nice that I would feel comfortable doing so.

We had a wonderful dinner at The Hound’s Tale during our trip to Williamsburg. The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and fun — perfect for families!

Our daughter especially loved the kid-friendly menu and the playful dog-themed decor. We truly enjoyed everything from start to finish.

Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Williamsburg — we’ll definitely come back next time!

Ambiance is great. Our server was outstanding. The shrimp & grits was pretty good, but the fish and chips were overcooked. Plenty of menu options though. We will be back.

What a super cute pub! It is entirely dog themed, down to serving us complimentary popcorn in (clean) dog bowls. The fish and chips were great, and the cookie skillet was the perfect dessert to top off the meal

Another tourist trap, you won't be coming back,so who gives a shit, that's the owners credo around Williamsburg sorry to say,not much to chose from did find a good pizza place, wood oven,a bit pricy, but worth it.5th pizza on Lightfoot road, owners from New York,so that tells you something right there, good luck
