We first passed by this restaurant on our way to the hotel, and we immediately knew we would go to eat there. The very architecture of that little place was so inviting! And the experience did not disappoint. The waitresses dressed in the waiting staff uniforms of that time, various things, like little sculptures and drawings that portray Jefferson's time - it was very nice. This place is charming. The service was fun and friendly. We went in with not the highest expectations. As there were only 3 of us, we didn't get the chance to try many of the food options, but the menu offers something for everyone. Is the decor outdated? Yes. Wanted to try a new spot for our yearly trip to Williamsburg. Picked Jefferson as a taste test of peanut soup was needed. Yes, to many a turned up face, but we found it to be a real great addition to the meal. Busy but no wait, quiet enough to hear well without shouting and an excellent server, Greg, who helped guide us into a fine meal. Would, and will, return and redo that peanut soup.
