Very disappointing. There was very little seafood to begin with, it came with potatoes and green beans to fill the dish, and that was not what I came for. I came for good seafood. Turned out that the very small portion of seafood did not matter because the heavy spices applied ruined the flavor of the seafood and it all went in the trash. I ordered a side of fried oysters and they were over breaded and soggy. You are scrimping.

The food was very good. Friendly staff sets the bar on an enjoyable dining experience. My wife got the Rockfish Special and combined it with the Crab Dip. It was awesome 👍

The server went above and beyond for us even though we showed up 30 mins before closing they didn’t rush us at all. The food was absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked NY Strip Steak and seafood dish. We will be back when we are in the area again.

The food is well cooked. The blackened options for sone of the fish introduces some color in what be a rather deal old fashioned menu however. On the whole, it's excellent service in an interesting venue with expertly cooked, albeit simple entrées.

We ate here for the first time while we were visiting Williamsburg and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The decor and ambiance were perfection and the staff was just amazing. It was family friendly and our whole party of 5 all LOVED our meals. Would absolutely recommend and will definitely be back next time we're in Williamsburg!

On a recent trip to Williamsburg, I dined at The Whaling Company. From the moment I walked into the restaurant, I knew we made the right choice. The ambiance was warm and inviting.....with a balance of elegance and comfort.
The hostesses were very friendly and welcoming. Our waiter, Albert, was incredible! He was so attentive and friendly. He was a delight!!! The best waiter I have experienced in years, truly! He checked in at just the right moments....making me feel like a special guest.
The food was delish! I ordered fried oysters with green beans and red potatoes - all of which was cooked to perfection. Others in my party ordered salmon and shrimp with potatoes and salads. Everyone raved about their food!
Overall, The Whaling Company offers a perfect combination of fantastic food and excellent service. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion or stopping in as a weary traveler, this place is sure to impress. I will definitely be back!

If I could give it no stars I would. Everything was bland and flavorless, horribly cooked and strange and dusty on the inside.
The service was atrocious
The only thing that was good was dessert but the display was weird

So my mom just passed and i wasn't much into cooking for Thanksgiving. Made a reservation for The Whaling Company. Walked in and wasn't filthy but wasn't clean. I ordered the seafood pasta and my husband ordered seafood platter. His "platter" was so small, it literally fit in a dish for like a crabdip appetizer. My seafood pasta had 3 scallops and 3 shrimp. Pasta had absolutely no flavor and all our seafood was super salty. For $170.00 for the meal, we both left hungry. Needless to say, we will NEVER go back EVER!
We just had Thanksgiving dinner here and it was awesome. Atmosphere was great, service impeccable and food delicious! We will definitely be back. Thanks so much for making our holiday dinner special. Desserts and drinks were on point as well!
Booths are a little tight of a fit, but the atmosphere and food make up for it.
