Yea the food in my opinion wasn’t that good whatsoever. Also, the place just looked bear, and like they were moving. The lady was not just on the phone when she was getting my food, but she didn’t even wear gloves as she got my food from these metal tins. I would definitely recommend Mystics in Newport News. I actually was there to pick up my door dash order on Sep 10 as seen from the picture below. I also waited patiently and quietly for my order, and didn’t mention anything about any prices, so I don’t know where that came from. I think the person who responded to my review below has me confused with someone else. And tbh the response shows the lack of rapport and professionalism you all have with your customers. I also am not affiliated with Mystics but decided to give you all a try on my way back from Richmond because you were closer to home instead of me going all the way to Newport News. So please get your facts straight and have a blessed day ??

My son raved about this place and I had to try it. The food is as flavorful as it gets. Large portions, even for a big eater like me. The owners are as nice of people as you'll meet. I had rasta pasta with j*** chicken and can't wait to try the other menu items. If you like flavor (so who doesn't?), you'll love this place. I highly recommend!

So I’ve tried this place a couple times just to see if they had a bad day but it isn’t the case it’s just bad. The food is sloppy cold and microwaved. I’m disappointed that they aren’t disappointed and okay with sending and serving something so far away from Jamaican island food. Don’t ruin your taste buds with this place they don’t know what they are doing in the kitchen or care about quality.

Amazing, amazing food. If you are in the mood or have a craving for j*** chicken, order from here. It is the best I've had in YEARS. We ordered it with the mac&cheese and just that alone was worth it. Will most definitely be back for some of their oxtail. Thank you so much for being so kind to us!!

Owners have a terrible attitude! They hung up on me several times when inquiring about my order. Additionally they claimed the order screw up was not their fault & that they don’t care how I feel about it. I gave them the opportunity to cool off and tried to reach out again but the attitude was still there. I didnt get a chance to try the food and now definitely wont be giving it a try. I think it is inportant to treat people kindly. This was definitely not what I was expecting out of a new business!

10/10 This place is as good as it gets. It is a locally ran, crafted with love from Jamaica- spot serving you their deep knowledge of flavor . I have now gotten the ox tail twice and honestly don’t know what I was doing with my life until I ate this. Literally melts off the bone. The cabbage, the rice, the Mac n cheese, the PLANTAINS…makes life actually do able when you have a plate of food this good. Not to mention this 2nd time ordering from them they were literally closed and about to walk out, but so kindly said they could prepare us a plate!. Go show these folks love and your belly will love you back.

It was amazing. While it might not be the most visually appealing food, the taste is what wins the day. J*** chicken was great, but the beef patty really made the experience. Order some of this grub, put on your favorite island music mix, and enjoy the afternoon/evening.
Literally just left there... best jamaican food I had in VA so far... definitely recommend the goat and oxtails... to die for

I had the j*** chicken with Mac and cheese and plantains, and a beef patty. I had the food delivered with DoorDash so I didn't visit the restaurant, but the food was absolutely amazing. Very flavorful, the portions were great, and the price was more than reasonable for the food. Don't pass this place up if you enjoy some tasty Jamaican food!
