Best Mexican in the area. The consome that comes with the birria tacos/quesabirria is insanely good. Sweet, delicate, very beefy. Mix some with your beans and rice, and dip chips in it! The tres leches is also absurdly good. I will be going again and again and again and… you get the picture. Don’t hesitate!

I usually go here for a nice meal and a good drink on Fridays after a long week. After my experience tonight I don’t know if I will go back anymore. Our server was very rushed, granted it was pretty packed tonight. He barely came to our table and we ended up sitting for 15+ minutes after we completed our meal. During this time he was attending to all of the tables around us and ignored our attempts to flag him down for drinks. After 15 minutes I got a hold of the manager who was also very dismissive. Overall I loved this restaurant previously, but with the lack of respect that I received tonight I doubt I will be supporting this business any longer.

This was my second time visiting Alto’s for dinner. I loved the environment and the food the first time, so I decided to go again. There was a large group of us celebrating a birthday. Our waitress immediately seemed annoyed to be serving us, not once did she smile, she was very short with us, and could be seen talking with other servers while all looking and pointing at our table. When attempting to order drinks and food, we felt very rushed. We planned on staying for a while and talking, but were offered boxes and the bill very early. The man, who seemed to be the manager, was constantly staring at our table and watching over us as if we were doing something wrong. I was very disappointed in the atmosphere and service. The restaurant was not about to close, and they weren’t too busy. The negative environment was very disappointing for the celebration. Despite the service, the food was delicious.

Fail on our 1st visit. Our local hangout closed, was looking for a nice bar to have a margarita, some good food, and a friendly environment. Sad to say, none of the above. The bar is very bright and open, commercial restaurant atmosphere, not cozy at all. No dedicated bartender, the servers just take turns waiting on people regardless of where you sit.We were seated quickly by the hostess, got some menus, a basket of chips and some salsa right away from someone else…that was the only good part. Now the not so good parts. The chips are not good, bitter and in much need of salt, the salsa bland. Our waitress came by soon after we were seated, told us the special meal of the day, we said we only wanted drinks and bar snacks/appetizers. She got our drinks and said “I’ll be back”, leaving us to look at the menus. Needless to say, that was the last we saw of her. We completely finished our drinks, other waiters/waitresses walked by often, never bothering to ask if we needed anything. Eventually we just decided that was enough and went to find someone to pay our drink bill with. Only then did your waitress come up as we were looking for someone. I told her we just wanted our bill due to the fact that she had not come back to take our order. She argued right away and said she had not come back because we had told her we only wanted drinks…which makes sense only if your policy is to never check on your customers ever again and yea, the customer is always wrong. Needless to say, won’t be back. Will I go back…no.Would I recommend…no

This beautiful restaurant is right next to the Alamo movie theater. It was very busy, but we were quickly seated, and our drinks arrived without delay. Our waitress was very busy, but still provided excellent service. The refried beans were delicious, better than I've had elsewhere. Our main course was fresh and tasty. Perfect for a "date night," after a movie. They had a huge bar!

The food is always tasty here. I have not eaten at the restaurant, but their to go is almost always made on time or early. It is still warm when I get home, ~15 minutes later. Sometimes a side or appetizer is missed in the bag, but we haven't missed an entree. Their bathrooms are clean, but need some plumbing/structural repairs. The chips are large and taste fine. The salsa is okay. The tacos, quesadillas, carnitas, chori pollo, and beans are always great. The rice is okay.Wheelchair accessibility: A ramp to the sidewalk is relatively nearby the doorway, especially when moving from the parking lot to the restaurant. There are two doors which do not have accessible door opening buttons. The staff can see through the doors to within the entryway, but likely cannot see the approach of a wheelchair user from the outside due to visual instructions on the outside of the entry.

First time I came I LOVED my marg and the salsa. Every time I go back, however, I’m disappointed. The second time I ordered a margarita and it was SO strong. Tasted like straight tequila. I went back tonight and got a margarita and it tasted like water? The salsa was also eh. I want to love this place but I can’t.
