Poorly prepared
My first impression was that the place looked like a dirty warehouse and I can't imagine how it passes any food related inspection. Unfortunately, I was in a rush and the Thai place next door had permanently closed, so I placed an order for Orange Chicken. In short, the food tasted like it had been made six months ago and I self-protectively trashed it. Simply awful. Please save yourself the grief.
Their variety of food is great! I specially love their fruits and veggies selection, the awesome artisan breads, & meat cut to order at the “butcher” counter! The beer selection is also great!!
Poorly prepared
I DO NOT RECOMMEND MARTINS FOOD STORE Lack of sensitivity for individuals with disabilities for allowing snow and ice to be piled in a disability parking space. Unfortunately there are too few disability parking spaces and to allow this to occur is very inconsiderate! I reported it to Renee, acting manager and she just smiled and agreed it was wrong without any comments about correcting it. I hope this will not occur in the future.
This place was good sometime back. Just waited 2 hours for delivery and food was all wrong, not what I ordered. Being gluten free, old owners knew to take care. Not the first time on this screw up. These are not the same people that made the name of this place, they bought it a few years ago, and have been chizzling away at the original reputation since with lower quality foods and service since. This was my last try tonight. How do you say adios in Mandarin?
Excellent quality! I ordered the Special Combination Platters for lunch that - in addition to a main dish - include a choice of egg roll or spring roll, OR wonton or egg drop soup. The food was fresh, the service quick, and the staff was pleasant and efficient. This is a No MSG restaurant - great! I must add that I have assorted food allergies and intolerances and it's been a long time since I have ordered Chinese food based on previous bad experiences. Eastern food was delicious and not over-seasoned, and I had no negative reactions - this is monumental for me! Highly recommend this restaurant for takeout. If I had to make two constructive comments, I would say that the restaurant could be cleaner (for example, the front door was full of hand prints and it was early in the day), and the staff really should be wearing masks.
y'all have a receiver named Maria whom has verbally attacked me and put her hand in my face and because we complained she is saying we can not come into the store to service it!! this is unethical and discriminating! I have left reviews filled out your form and I haven't heard NOTHING about this situation!!! what's going to happen if I get fired over her not letting me into the store because there is no other drivers around here? all because we complained about her screaming and yelling and throwing her hand in my face? martins is protecting the racist!!!!!
I went to Martin’s grocery store yesterday on Pleasant Valley and I was discriminated with no doubt. I went grocery shopping. I took my reusable bags since I have been vaccinated and i believe in supporting the environment by reducing plastic bag consumption. I gave my bags to the cashier “Jessi” and she accepted with no comments. I spent near $300 in groceries. When the belt was full, she told me “it is full, you have to bag it” I normally don’t have an issue helping bag, but she was bagging prior customers groceries and the way she said was demanding. I got in shock and another lady told her, “No, we bag for customers”. Jessi got really upset and started to let the belt run, so food started to get smashed. When she bagged, she just threw the items inside the bags upset. I started to video her. When she finished she told me and the next customers “this is disgusting with loud voice”. The store had no sign that reusable bags were not allowed and other cashiers next to us were bagging groceries to other customers that brought reusable bags. My bags were clean and actually some brand new. In fact the store was selling reusable bags. It is so disappointing that Jessi treats customers like me in that matter. When she said it was disgusting, she starting to put antibacterial to both whole arms upset. I don’t recommend any Hispanic person go to this Martin’s. I will write a letter to the manager. As soon as I took the video her attitude calmed down. Unpacking my groceries, I found some got damaged. I should have walked out when she started treating me and my cousin rude.
The lady taking our order was very nice, and the food was good. I can't eat oyster sauce so they replaced the sauce with a white sauce, it could've used a little more flavor, but was still good. The portions are very good here! No skimping here.
