Glad we decided to check this brewery out. It smelled Very festive inside due to one of the brews on tap. Bartender was knowledgeable about the restaurants near by and we decided to take his suggestions. He did not steer us incorrectly. We had a good time chatting and drinking the delicious brews. Will be back.

Quick stop for a beer. Had to google wtf an escutcheon was but wasn't the meaning behind the name. It ended being a ship sailed on by owner. Solid beers in a fun small town

Everyone is always so nice here! Sometimes we come in to finish up the work day on our laptops and then get a beer :) great setup for that!

Very clean, lovely atmosphere, beertender was super sweet and welcoming. I really enjoyed the lager and stout. I'm a dark beer girl tho ? We will definitely be back. I love clean, welcoming breweries and these guys are doing it right!

Good beer. Came on a day without pretzels; I will be back to try them.

Great experience! Lauren was an excellent host. She recommended a great local pizza place that delivered to the brewery. Then, she gave us a complimentary, delicious taste of two beers mixed together. Finally, she told us about a local museum, which we visited after the brewery. We'll be back!

Escutcheon is located in a pseudo warehouse district of Winchester VA. It was easy to find with GPS. The challenge when I arrived was parking. They have used some of their parking spaces for outside seating, which must be some kind of code, because it was fall here and about 30 something degrees. Not sure who would really be sitting out there.. Once inside,, the Brewery is spacious with enough seating both bar and tables for a good size group of beer dinners. I sat at the bar and ordered a flight of all 10 beers they had on tap. All the beer at Escutcheon is drinkable, crushable and reasonably price for $6-7 a pint. And, the beer here is true to style. No extra flavors, just good beer by the numbers. Brian was our beertender and he was great. Thanks Brian, your sense of humor and knowledge of the beer as well as nautical terms made our night way better. The brewers name is John and he brews clean flavors. It is comforting when the beers taste like what they are. The BEER: Growler Kolsch 4.5% ABV... crisp and refreshing Fancy Clancy Pilsner 4.5% ABV... a light Pilsner for those Miller or Bud fans Maggie's Cream Ale 4.5% ABV... reminds me of Genesee Cream Ale, really drinkable Agonic Line Lager 5% ABV... I love this Lager, because it tastes like what it is Spica Hefeweizen 5.6% ABV... It's a not so typical hefe. Yummm... Bowditch American Pale Ale 5% ABV... APAs are not my palet, but this one was pretty good Plimsoll IPA 6.5% ABV... FIRE!!! This is delicious Slip Angle New England IPA 7% ABV... says its a NEIPA, but has the flavor profile of a west coast IPA Habermehels Oktoberfest lager 6.5 ABV... liked this One alot Annealed Coffee Stout 6.5% ABV... smells like coffee, tastes like coffee, give me some bacon and I've got breakfast For my first experience here, I was very impressed. None of the ABVs were ridiculously high and the beers were true to their styles. For me that was very comforting. I am finding that here in Winchester, a night of beer drinking is Uber Affordable. And Escutcheon is not the exception, but the rule. If you want great beer at even greater affordability, Escutcheon is the place to visit. I will be returning soon.

Beers were a little thin - seems like they skimped on the malt bill a little bit. The wheat beer was the best of the bunch. It was true to form but was lacking that nice wheaty meatiness and residual mouth feel.

Great beer. Really enjoyed their stout. Best I've had on a long time. Thank You

Awesome local brewery with a variety of beer options. When I first visited the place, I was surprised by how big the place is and how nice and clean the brew spaces are (you can have a peek from the lounge.) The beer is well priced and you can also get growler refills.

You should visit this place. A great selection of beer. The nitro stout and the hefe were very good. An easy walk from downtown. And I’m not sure hor they conjure that pretzel mustard, but I could drink it (and I don’t even like mustard). Their staff is super nice too.
