We enjoy the authentic German food. Every dish is delicious! The owners are so friendly and the atmosphere is cozy. This place is truly a hidden gem in Winchester! The HunterSchnitzel with spatzel is delicious! They also have a variety of products from Germany that you cannot buy elsewhere.

Don't understand the reviews. The lady (i assume owner), was not friendly. Almost bordered on rude. They were out of a main dish. The food we had was adequate but nothing great. We have tried many German restaurants and this one is at the bottom. Will continue to go to Hagerstown for german where the service is so much more welcoming. Definitely will not return nor recommend. And this place is basically just take out. Seating is literally a table inside and a table outside.

The service was perfect! The couple working there are so very nice. The food, and their hospitality reminded me so much of my Oma's cooking when I was a kid.A must visit. You will be pleased.Parking: Small lot but you can park nearby.

A restaurant posing as a small grocer, this place appears to be owned and operated by a middle-aged, relatively recent, immigrant couple from central Germany.The food is as authentic as their accents, and everything I've had has looked, smelled, and tasted quite good.I highly recommend stopping in here and showing both them and yourself some love. In my experience, you won't find German food this good any closer than the far-side of Staunton or south-eastern Pennsylvania.

What a gem!! We were driving through Winchester and stopped here for dinner and didn’t regret it! The food is SO good, really, especially if you like German food - this is the place! My husband had a special- shnitzel with mushroom sauce and spatzle, and I had a cabbage roulade with potato salad - all awesome! But the homemade Black Forest cake was the absolute highlight- not too sweet, light and fluffy, with perfect plump cherries soaked in schnaps and the softest, the fluffiest, the most delicious whipped cream… wow, to die for! The prices are extremely reasonable and quite affordable for the quality of food that you’re getting. The owners are from Germany, so they know what they’re doing - nice, and honest people; the husband is cooking and the wife is the hostess, she’s so sweet and genuine - very self-conscious about her English speaking skills, so please compliment her - she does speak well! The place is super clean and nice… but it’s tiny, only a couple of tables, so if you plan to come with a company, most certainly call ahead to make a reservation. Oh, and if you want dumplings, call ahead as well… They also have some German food items for sale - sausages, cookies, chocolate, etc., so if you miss German or European food, this is the place to splurge! HIGHLY recommend and we’ll certainly come back if/when in Winchester.
