Hog-it-up BBQ, Bar & Saloon

Im not local but ive been to alot of BBQ places and this one is one to forget. Very expensive, meat tasted old and dry, cajun rice was more like soup and the kid that took our order was really confused about what they had on the menu. Again im not local but if your in Winchester area i recomend the 35 minute drive to purceville for Monks BBQ. Locally I would reccomend Mission BBQ

I ordered the pulled pork brisket sandwich that came with fries. The sandwich wasnt even edible. The pieces of pork were very chewy and burnt. I didnt even get the fries that the menu said came as a side. $18 for a sandwich is absolutely ridiculous.

Stopped here while in town with our SU student and were underwhelmed. The sweet tea was uncovered and watered down. The pulled pork and brisket tasted ok but were dried out. No straws for drinks and only 1 person working counter and kitchen. The light of the entire meal was the beans.

The young lady that waited on me was pleasant & professional. I was only inside briefly but loved the set up. Nice atmosphere & they have a small bar. It was clean & welcoming.
I love BBQ & wanted to love what I ordered for take out but....
The pulled pork was a bit dry & lacked flavor. The beans reminded me of my high school cafeteria beans (mushy) that needed to be jazzed up with maybe some peppers, onions or more spices. I took a few bites but tossed them. The hush puppies tasted fine despite the blackened appearance & doughy center. I had to put them in the oven once I got home but did enjoy them.
Maybe the cook was rushing to close early as my pick up was approx. 8pm on a Saturday evening & no other patrons were in the building. Maybe it was just an off night for the kitchen. Either way I was pleasantly surprised with the interior atmosphere & staff yet disappointed with the majority of food ordered. Hopefully this will be a helpful review for the establishment.

I highly recommend hog we came from New York for the weekend and when I looked for places to eat this was the first place I want d to try! You know it’s a good bbq place when you get asked if you ever been there before and when I said no he said well we have been waiting for you all day! Mike helped us and we even got to watch him on the tv prepare the sampler we order which came with turkey (very moist), pulled pork( amazing flavor) and brisket ( the bark was yummy) I had the corn pudding, the baked beans and Mac n cheese, my husband had the Mac n cheese,the potato salad, and the dirty rice, so good! The bourbon sauce was so good on the turkey! I highly recommend going and giving them a try they have so many good choices ! I hope I get to go back before I leave to go home!!!!

My wife and I came in today and were blown away by the service, taste, and overall vibe of the place. The owner was incredibly helpful, the food was amazing, and the price was worth it.

We shared the pork belly bites, corn pudding, and hush puppies. We each had a serving of brisket. I wish I took photos because it looked and tasted soooo goood.

I've had a lot of BBQ and I'll tell you one thing this place is probably one of the worst if not the worst that I have ever had , everything tasted like it was 2 weeks old ,expensive and small portions even though it didn't get eaten considering it wasn't edible. I'm pretty shocked this place is still in business!! Good thing winchester medical center is near by that's where you'll end up eating from this place..

My boyfriend and I stopped in for some BBQ on our way from VA to PA. We ordered the wings, brisket, chicken, and turkey to try a little variety. Everything was delicious, but the wings and brisket were unbeatable! Highly recommend this local spot. The Carolina mustard was also a must!

I’m not sure how anyone could recommend this place. First time customer and we were clearly served very old meat. I ordered the brisket sandwich off door dash which was pictured with a bun- came with one slice of bread and the driest meat imaginable. I thought this was maybe a DoorDash order issue maybe the driver left it for too long or something but other members in our party got the same results (plus one extra piece of bread lol) they did mention the service was amazing and that the inside was clean and nice.

This is real good BBQ.

The brat and the sweet tea chicken are really unique. Both are rich and full of flavor but there's a nice herbal zip that's kind of refreshing with each bite. If you're looking for something out of ordinary, these two won't disappoint.

If you want to go more traditional, the corned beef brisket was fall apart tender and really nice as a sandwich.

The restaurant has a gas station deli vibe but well organized and clean.

I stopped by while enjoying a long, summer morning ride on my motorcycle from DC. I will definitely make the trip out again just to eat here.

Great food , Great service.. well worth it .. got the sampler. Which is brisket, pork, and turkey with 3 sides. I got the corn pudding, tropical slaw and mac n cheese.. all very delicious. We were offered a sample of the corned brisket, ended up getting some to go. All the meat was moist and delicious. All the workers were friendly and chatted with us.

Came in after getting a recommendation ( outta towners), glad that we did! We got 2 of the meat samplers and everything was amazing! My sister got the brisket sandwich and she said it was perfect .. All the meats are moist, They let us even sample a piece of corned beef and we ended up buying some. Some of the best barbecue I've had in a long time! Customer service was friendly and food was out quickly. I highly recommend, and I will definitely be returning when I come back..
