Kid-friendliness: Very nice and welcome everyone
Employees were friendly & service was great. Burgers & fries were made when ordered so fresh & delicious. Thanks again!
Took my order wrong ever though I told him twice. No condiments on the table. You pay restaurant price for fast food
Just ordered a burger at the drive thru. Was not asked if I wanted condiments nor was I given any. I was also not given a napkin with my burger. Okay burger. Stingy service.
Best burger I have had in a really long time. So good I had to go back the next day for the same thing to see if it was a fluke. It wasn't. I look forward to my next visit. Food was ready quickly for both dine in and drive through.
First time here, visiting from Nebraska ? food was SO GOOD, and portions are big so now I am SO FULL. Definitely would recommend ?
Hands down the best steak & cheese sub I've ever ate. It was loaded with meat. Most other places give you more lettuce than actual steak. I definitely recommend. Fries are good, & The Moose Chicken sub is really good too.
Overall the place was ok. Really nice staff. Ice cream was pretty good. I got the Philly. Didn't have alot of flavor. You know how the steak is for a beef and broccoli from an Asian restaurant where they soak it or rub it with baking soda to tenderize it? Well that's how the steak was. I didn't care for that to much but to each his or her own. Bun was really nice seemed steamed possibly. Don't know till you try and I would say def try. Also, fries were great and server stayed on those refills.
Kid-friendliness: Really nice for kids. They get a ice cream or a car. The car holds their kids meal. The kids loved that. I have all boys.
Wheelchair accessibility: I think it was wheelchair accessible. At least the walkway was lowerd where a wheelchair could fit.
Server was great and food was great. My first Hwy 55 experience. Drove an hour and half and was worth it!
We stopped for lunch on the way to Front Royal. We goggled places to eat, and that's how we found it . One downfall is that there are no signs on 81 North or South Bound, so by the time you see it, you're already passed it . We stopped and had a very, very nice lunch. Food tasted great . My hamburger and fried pickles were awesome. My wife got the fried shrimp Platter and absolutely loved it. They have a nice child's menu where the meals come in a cool little car . Our service was awesome , we couldn't have had any better experience. We will remember this nice little place and will stop again for sure. Thanks for a great lunch .

Went for the first time and am so excited we did! The burgers are big and one of the best we've ever had! Literally counting down the days till we go back. The building was super clean, we were greeted as soon as we walked in, and our food was made fresh when we ordered it.
First time here. The ladies working were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. Will definitely be going back again soon.
It's one of the only Hwy55 restaurants I have been to with a drive-thru.We spoke with the owner, and he shared that they have a burger press, kind of like a panninni press, too cut cook times ⏲️My wife ate the pimento cheese burger and liked it.I had the steak and cheese subway and will remember to ask to have the hoagie bun toasted and have mayonnaise added at the end.
The first time walking in, the air smelled just so amazing! Idk how to describe it per-say, I'd say it smelled like a new car.The food btw was ALSO amazing!! The Americana Burger is pretty delicious, mixed with the salted fries and ranch. So all around, this place is a definite go-to dine-in restaurant ✨
Staying at the Microtel, we saw the listing for a retro-themed eatery on Google maps that was just next door. We figured we would give them a try. We got there 20 minutes before their scheduled closing time but were still given a warm greeting (no attitude) and told to “sit anywhere”. We selected one of the roomy, clean and comfortable booths. The friendly server arrived quickly to hand us the menus and take our drink orders. The drinks arrived within about 2 minutes. The sweet tea was true “southern sweet”, which is a rarity this far north in Virginia. The menu has a good variety of options, from burgers, to hot dogs, to cheesesteaks, to sandwiches, to chicken, shrimp, and chopped meat platters. Prices are very reasonable, with most items coming in well under $11. Many of the larger items are available in a “lil” portion size. While we were perusing the menu a basket of freshly made tortilla like chips was delivered to the table. The chips were delicious, and included cups with tasty cheese dip and chili dip. I ordered the shrimp po boy, which came open-face style on a large fresh hoagie roll that was completely full of juicy, perfectly cooked, shrimp on a bed of tomatoes. The shrimp was drizzled with a nicely spiced “po boy sauce” with just the right amount of heat thrown in. My wife had the “build your own burger” in the lettuce wrap. The burger was cooked perfectly and “absolutely moist and delicious!” My daughter ordered the toasted pimento cheese and bacon sandwich. She said it was very good but she had forgot to specify crispy bacon. All 3 dinners came with large orders of outstanding crispy tater tots. These tots could be very addictive. It is really a shame that we were just passing through and had to leave 2/3’s of the tots behind. The portion size of all the entrees was “generous”, something that is becoming increasingly rare in these days of uber inflation and serving size deflation! Excellent price to value ratio! Our server was attentive, taking care of drink levels, and checking that all was well with the meal.We took the time to compliment the cook for the outstanding meals, and it turns out that we were talking to the owner. We had a very pleasant conversation about the things we liked about “HWY 55”. He talked about the efforts they make to deliver fresh and hopefully delicious food to their customers. He also talked about how they work to come up with location specific food specials and tailor menu items to the particular area where the restaurant is located. We tried one of the newest ideas, a cheesecake custard shake, it was delicious! We will definitely be back for more the next time that our travels take us through the area again.I have nothing negative to say about our experience at “HWY 55”. Give them a try.
