Best little ice cream stop while walking around downtown

At first glance at the election of ice cream I thought small. I typically always get peanut butter ice cream. They didn't have it, so i tried showing else. I've had cookies and cream before but when I had Red Fox...whoa. It was absolutely awesome. Rich creamy with huge pieces of chocolate cookie. One of the most tastiest, being up in NYC recently and having a gelato for the first time this beats it. If I lived up in NYC I'd drive to Winchester Virginia just to have this ice cream. I was able to meet the owners grandson, who was a nice man told the story how his grandmother makes the ice cream with a high milkfat (how i didn't botch that) giving it is flavorful burst of holy cow. My kids want to come back way more often. They also are a candy store so be sure to check that out.

While visiting Winchester Virginia we decided to go to a bakery. We discovered this place called Red Fox creamery downtown on the walk around mall and thought we would give them a try. When my wife and I walked up before we could even ask a question one of the young ladies that was standing in front of the store I guess they were doing some type of sampling spoke up and told us that there's no more soup and gave us this long spill about it would be done again another time at the end of this we then inform them that we were not there for the soup anyhow we came to the bakery so they pointed us in the direction of the bakery which was next door and they were also attached to that we didn't even know that but they were attached to the bakery when we get inside I had to use the restroom while my wife was in line ordering the pastries. I then asked one of the employees if they had a restroom she asked in return are you a customer I responded Yes in fact my wife is right there in line ordering right now they went to get the key and when they went and to get the key they asked the person behind the counter for the key to the bathroom he replied no he didn't want to give it to me. Reluctantly he gave the key to his coworker to give to me and I then proceeded to the restroom on the way out of the restroom I was given the key back to the employee who gave me the key she then said in an abrupt way take it to the counter. This was our first time ever downtown we were looking forward to coming downtown to explore and to see what was down there this left a very bad taste in our mouth we even thought about not ever coming back to that mall ever again but we decided that we were going to let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch, so we will be visiting the mall again but will not be visiting Red Fox creamery again.

I really wanted some cookies/brownies so first time my husband and I visited this area. While I was waiting in the line my husband needed to go to the bathroom. My husband asked where was the bathroom, a key was needed. The lady told her co-worker that the key was needed, reluctantly the co worker told her to give it to my husband, before she asked if he was a customer. Upon returning the key the lady she told my husband to take it back to the desk in a not so friendly voice. The brownie wasn't that good not because of the incident. I have had better. Needles to say I will never return to this establishment again, first impressions are lasting

We had the most amazing milkshakes here! My husband, son, and I all got different flavors and tried each others and each one was beyond delicious! It was a little pricey but honestly, the serving size is pretty big and they’re really thick too. Totally worth the price. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

Delicious HOMEMADE ice cream! What a treat to find cinnamon flavored ice cream too - very popular in Germany. The staff were very friendly and professional and the store was well appointed and very clean. You could feel the love here. We will be back when in town!
Stopped in there today and tried their ice cream. It was fantastic! Highly recommend!

No tasting allowed! I couldn’t decide on the ice cream flavor so I asked for a sample. The lady rudely snapped at me and informed me samples are not allowed. What?! I told the lady I was deciding between two flavors not that that matters. I found myself justifying why I the customer who was going to spend my money wanted to be happy with my choice of ice cream. She acted as if a tiny sample would put them out of business. So I left. Ridiculous business practice doesn’t rely on repeated customers. Maybe deep down they know they suck.

A nice little spot in the walking mall for hard-serve ice cream, along with deli foods, cookies, & specialty chocolates. Service was amazing. The ice cream was so good & creamy & perfect for a hot summer day, or really any day. Apologies for the blurry photo.
