The American Bar / Le Bar Américain

We went here to have dinner. We were seated immediately. Ten minutes in and we had no menu and no one had come to the table. It was extremely hot in the restaurant. Finally the waiter brings us water. No ice and warm water. We asked for menus which we got about 5 minutes later. The waiter apologized for not bringing them sooner saying it was very busy( 3 tables) seated in the entire place. We waited awhile after getting the menus and he never came back to take our order. Finally we got up and left. He thanked us for coming as we walked out. very odd and bad experience.

Fantastic salmon - more tender than what I had in Seattle when they were running upstream! Burger is fantastic as well. Service, atmosphere are top notch too. You absolutely owe it to yourself to try this place out - it's a hidden gem on the Walking Mall!

My husband and I were bar hopping in Old Town and decided to pop in The American Bar for a drink. We stayed for at least three each because the bartender Molly was EXCEPTIONAL! Drinks were great also but she definitely made the experience above and beyond! We will be back if we’re ever in the area again.

Charming spot in awesome location on the square. Really felt like a French bistro experience. The steak and frites were really great.

So good. I was skeptical at first but such good food. I got the burger bisque I believe and added bacon. They told me they had to make fresh bacon and it was a wait but it was so worth it. I don’t know what they did back there but it was some of the best bacon I ever had. It was perfect. Our waitress was so nice and amazing. Was absolute joy to talk to! I would recommend a rocks glass for you water the other glasses had a bit of a aroma but You’ll definitely see me back here again.

It was our first time at the American bar and we were very impressed. We started off with mussels, which were outstanding. And then we moved on to have a bibb salad which had a light vinaigrette dressing. For the main course we had the 6 ounce fillet with frites, which was very good but next time we plan to try the truffle fries. The server was fantastic and will definitely go back. 

Super cozy place, food is amazing. This is probably inn the top 3 restaurant in Winchester. I ordered the Rib Eye and my wife the Filet Mignon, both cookednto perfection. The onion soup was a bit cold for my taste but still amazing. Desserts, both are good, my choice is the Creme Brule. Good wines at a moderate price. Very recommended ?. Service was also great!

Great food enhanced by great staff. Just had Mothers Day dinner there and had a great time! Don’t miss dessert!! I will go bad to Winchester just for this restaurant.

Hands down the best burger that I eaten in a long time! The best part was we were able to sit in a side garden and have some privacy. Great experience and we will be back soon for a dinner service! Thank you
