Winchester Ciderworks: A Craft Cider Gem
Tucked away in the heart of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, Winchester Ciderworks is a craft cider lover's paradise. This family-owned and operated cider mill produces a wide variety of ciders, from classic dry to unique fruit-infused and barrel-aged offerings. The tasting room is a warm and inviting space, with friendly and knowledgeable staff who are always happy to help visitors find the perfect cider to taste.
The customer service at Winchester Ciderworks is excellent. When a customer received an expired and bad 4-pack of Malice, the owner made it right and provided a fresh pack that tasted great. Visitors can sample a flight of ciders, including the dry Malice, the semi-sweet 522, and the complex Rum Barrel Aged Cider. The food menu features delicious options, including the outstanding chicken pesto flatbread with a unique flaky, buttery crust.
While the location on 522 is permanently closed, the cider works is in the process of opening a new tasting room in downtown Winchester. The variety of ciders, especially the seasonal ones, ensures that everyone in a group can find something they like. The service remains quick and friendly, and the inviting atmosphere includes a front patio, board games, and a section near the bar to buy cider to-go. This place is definitely worth a visit, and the sampler menu option of ciders is highly recommended.
