My mom and I stopped by on a whim while out and about. She had the cold plate and I had the chicken salad on a croissant with a side of potato salad. Portions were plentiful and everything was delicious. They have numerous gluten free options to choose from. Lots of sweets and ready made options to grab and go. Highly recommend!
Looked for a real coffee on 460 between Suffolk and Petersburg. Plenty of truck stops and gas stations but prefer to support local shops where you get more personal attention. Google brought up the Rusted Root which we had driven by several times without knowing it was there as it sits in a shopping center not visible from 460 as you drive by. I usually try to get here on Thursdays when I'm out in Windsor to help with my granddaughters. I take time to enjoy a good breakfast selection and pastry. They have a varied menu of drinks, but I like my large Americano with an extra shot. The staff is very friendly and helpful and kind. My granddaughters enjoy the pastries, mostly, but I enjoy the banana pudding/banana pudding cookies. If it has to be gluten free, I've noticed that there is a nice selection as well....
