Messed up my food. Cashier wasn't aware of customer fair act

One of my favorite places to eat. On two occasions after ordering my food it sat on the counter after the cashier said my number was called which I obviously didn't hear over the atmosphere noise. The attendant should have a sense of situational awareness. Food is brought out and no accountability for which order is pick up or dine in.

This is hands down some of the most atrocious Oxtail and jerk chicken I’ve ever had in my life. The oxtail had so much fat on it and wasn’t even cooked all the way which probably explained why it was so hard to chew. And the jerk chicken isn’t even real jerk chicken. Idk who runs this restaurant but yall need to do better, because the lack of quality will eventually catch up.

This hands down the worse Jamaican food I have ever had. How are you Jamaican and you don’t know how to make jerk chicken. The chicken was dry and had no sauce. It was seasoned horribly and had no spice. Avoid this place at all costs and don’t make the same mistake I did.

I tried this place so many times but it’s so frustrating how hit or miss it almost as if it’s dependent on who’s the cook. This time was absolutely disgusting. The oxtail was dry (not an ounce of gravy)and each piece loaded with fat. Two small pieces of plantain and dry jerk chicken. I’m all set now I won’t ever return.

I’ve been coming to Irie for nearly 2 decades, and it’s disheartening to see how much the experience has changed since the younger generation took over. In the past the wife and husband would greet you. Ask how the family was and it had a personal touch. On my most recent visit, I decided to dine in as I have many times before. Unfortunately, the service and cleanliness left much to be desired.

My table was dirty when I was seated, and I had to request napkins to wipe it down myself. Looking around, I noticed dead flies on the window sills—definitely not what I expect from a place I’ve supported for years.

I was also disappointed to learn they no longer serve curry shrimp on the weekends, one of my favorites, and now charge a service fee for basic condiments like hot sauce or jerk sauce—even when dining in. After already spending nearly $70 for two meals, drinks, and meat patties. The nickel-and-diming for basic condiments is disappointing.

I miss the quality and hospitality Irie used to be known for. I hope they take feedback like this seriously and work to bring the standard back.

So I had to redo and edit this. I loved irie, every since they were the hole in the wall store in the middle of the plaza, but they have fallen off. I ordered a combo ox/jerk chicken. What i got was peppery bake chicken and peppers ox tail...no type of thick sauce just soup. That was disappointing to say the least. I hope they get it together..until then gotta find another spot 🤞🏾

Very simple Jamaican restaurant. I’ve been to Jamaica twice, the jerk chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had! I would argue top 3 Jamaican places I’ve ate.
