Had to wait a long time after drink orders before they came. When they finally got there, they were actually pretty good. High point of the evening, unfortunately. Food was below par. Yuk! Crab cakes were very spicy, even after the waitress said they were not. Ok, that is a personal taste, but she could have said “a little spicy.” Ordered crab dip, guess they forgot to add the crab! “Loaded baked potato” only had butter. She could have brought out the other fixings, but brought another potato 12 minutes later (we were about done by that time) and it was cold. Didn’t even melt the sour cream nonetheless the cheese. Band was … well, he tried! Raspy voice singer sounded like a cat fight. Sang partial songs and said that’s all he knew. Well, it’s your profession, dude! “Full time consideration of another endeavor might be in order!” (Know that song?) But the view of the harbor off the deck was nice! Would have given Atmosphere a 5 star, but the band ruined it. Bummer of a birthday dinner…

UPDATE: I am really amazed at how The Harbour Grille management took my criticism seriously, reacted in a friendly and positive manner, and quickly took corrective action. Jesse the General Manager personally greeted us and explained the changes they were implementing as a result of my review. Service was much improved on our return visit. Aubrey was terrific - prompt, efficient and cheerful. The head chef came to our table, apologized for the state of the short rib on my last visit, and encouraged me to give it another try. He was correct - so much better! It was a nice cut, tender and moist, and exceeded my expectations. Jesse informed us that he was even in process of rehanging all the bar lights to take care of the obstructed view! Some restaurants don't take reviews seriously - but Jesse and the team at The Harbour Grille appreciate honest, constructive criticism and took immediate action to address issues that were raised. I will definitely return!
My friends like this place because it's on the river, but The Harbour Grille has very little else going for it. The service is slow and inconsistent, and the atmosphere is unremarkable. It's a sports bar with TV screens, but you can't get a full view because the oddly hanging light fixtures are right in front of the screens. And the food is just not great, especially for the prices. I had the braised beef short rib ($28) which was cut up in small chunks rather than how most restaurants serve it, as one whole piece. The result was a dry, overcooked mess, not at all what you expect for short rib. Overall, a big disappointment - I can't recommend this place.
