Came in late afternoon. So or at the front for 6mins with no one around, eventually tracked down a staff member. “Sit anywhere.” I picked a seat in the near empty restaurant and waited another six minutes without being welcomed, receiving water, receiving a menu, or having anyone ask after me.. I couldn’t speak to the food as I never received any, but if it’s as bad as the service, my advice is not to waste the time.

The service is slow, the food was cold, the bathroom is filthy, and the waiter endangered my child.

My husband and I brought our 4 year old daughter here for lunch. We told our waiter that she has very severe dairy allergies that we carry an epi pen for so ordered a very specific meal that didn’t include any dairy. The waiter said he understood and told us that she could also have the white rice (which we were not going to give her) because he guaranteed it had no dairy. My husband and I tried the rice before she ate it and it tasted like it had butter in it. When we asked the waiter again he said he needed to ask the chef (which I thought he had already due to his previous statements), who confirmed that it DID have butter in it. Thank goodness we tried it first because otherwise we would have had to use her epi and call an ambulance.
When he guaranteed the white rice was dairy free I figured he took me seriously and actually knew, but he was just guessing.
He went and had a new plate made for her (with no rice) but we ended up not trusting any of it and just got our check. The food on the new plate was also cold and the black beans were hard and stale.
When we left I used the restroom and it’s absolutely filthy in there. See pictures of the vents in the bathroom.
We will not be coming back.

I don't understand the bad reviews, my family of 5 ate there today for my son's birthday and it was great! The food was good, the server was attentive but not too attentive. We had a good time. I'd go back!

We came here on Saturday to celebrate my grandma’s friend’s 84th birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was really disappointing. She asked for coffee and never received it. The service overall was extremely slow, and the staff didn’t seem attentive or motivated at all — probably because gratuity is automatically added to the bill, so there’s no real incentive for good customer service.

The food wasn’t any better. All the sides tasted stale, and the next day, everyone in my family had stomach issues. It’s hard to understand how this place is still running with such poor organization and a kitchen that clearly needs improvement. They seriously need a new chef and better management. I would not recommend this place unless major changes are made.

I enjoy this place a lot. It’s massive so there’s a lot of space for big parties. The bar is also pretty big. The staff has always been great. You won’t be disappointed but it’s not like Mexican food you would get in San Diego.

Our team chose Uncle Julio's as our end of the school year team dinner location. When trying to call and make a reservation for our large group, but each time I called a recording would come on after the first ring and say disconnect. I tried to call a dozen times for an hour with the same results. When making a reservation online it would only allow me to put in 12 rather than 13+ which was an option, we had 16 in our party. Our server was really nice, and in the beginning seemed to handle a large group well. It was when we received our meals things took a turn. Many in our party we're missing parts of what they ordered. Multiple times we had to ask for tortillas that should have come out with the meal, not sure where the breakdown occurred to get them so that those people could eat their taco bars, and other meals. One missing their chicken another their beans. Food was only ok, steaks were bland and overcooked. We all expected much more for the prices we were charged for our drinks and meals. Refills on drinks such a soda and water didn't happen. When asking for boxes for our leftovers, they either never arrived for some and they left their meal, others asked multiple times finally getting them 30 minutes later. The restaurant was not busy with an average of eight to ten tables filled at any given time.
This is all very sad because last year we also ate at Uncle Julio's and had zero issues. We are tired teachers and TAs who work with special education students, out celebrating the end of the school year.

Prices have gotten ridiculous. Food took forever to come out, but was not even that hot or fresh. The steak was decent, but the tortillas were cold and the toppings were stale. Service was soo slow. It took forever to get the check and then to run the credit cards. Then, of course, it has a pre-set gratuity of 18% that's non-negotiable.

Do yourself a favor and go to one of the local TexMex spots in Woodbridge.

I visited this restaurant over the weekend and was initially excited, especially after seeing the vibrant photo of a watermelon margarita — bright reddish in color with a fresh watermelon wedge and mint. Naturally, I ordered one. What I received was a pale pink drink with none of the garnishes shown in the image. It tasted fine, but I couldn't help feeling misled.

Then came the carne asada. I ordered it medium, but it arrived well done. I politely pointed this out to the waiter, even showing him a slice of the meat. He nodded in agreement and I made sure to say the flavor was still good — just clearly not cooked as requested. His response? “Do you want another drink?” It felt like my feedback went right over his head.

It may seem minor to some, but accurate representation and basic attention to detail matter — especially when diners are paying for a full experience. Unfortunately, this one missed the mark.

The Tipsy Toaster

Good food has a bar but no beer on tap? the menu prices were different on the two menus we got and of course after pointing it out the charged us the higher one. No beer on tap is probably so they can overcharge you for a bottle. Willing to pay extra for a tap beer but not a bottle. The food was pretty amazing. I would go back if the lowered the price of meals and beer.
