Our experience as a family of 4 was great and I highly recommend!! We have a 10 year old that is a picky eater and he asked that I please give them a 5 because he ate almost all of an adult sized meal. It was a very comfortable, friendly and cozy atmosphere!

Driving down I77 looking for a steakhouse - and found this gem of a restaurant! My wife’s NY strip was a tender cut and perfectly cooked. My Beef Stew was bold, flavorful, and the beef chunks were super tender. Sitting in a 200+ year-old log cabin, was just a relaxing and interesting evening. Prices were very reasonable.

Cali was our awesome server on August 29, 2025!! I got the stuffed chicken that had creamy pecan sauces ( which was awesome but one could probably also ask for it on the side). It was a specisl unique touch to the stuffed moist chicken! My husband loved his trout!! We were told by Cali tgat the batter was made there!! The stuffed mushrooms were to die for!! Huge mushrooms that had plenty of stuffing!! So glad this circa 1770's home was restored and saved for today. There are many additional rooms and can actually seat well over 150 people. Since the restaurant takes pride in their food quality, they do not seat to capacity. Reservations are suggested but our walk in time the evening before was only 25 minutes. One can check out the very nice huge gift shop while they are waiting or the bar.
The desserts looked wondetful and some were displayed in take home containers for purchase too!

If you are ever near Wytheville, VA and want an awesome meal with awesome service this is a highlight! By the way, casual dress is ok.

My son didn't care for his orange chicken or broccoli casserole, but I loved my food. I had the Corn fritters, Chicken Verde Pecan, baked potato and fried grits. The thing I thought was strange in such a nice place was the pre-packaged butter and sour cream. You absolutely must explore the gardens and gift shops. There is so much to see!

Really cool place to eat! We ate outside bc we had a dog with is, but it was a lovely rustic fairy garden. The southern style inspired menu was really good. Wish we lived closer! This would be a frequent destination!

A great recommendation brought us to the Log House. The staff was friendly and atmosphere was quiet. Both our meals were good, the salmon was especially tasty.

My wife and I ate last night at the Log House 1776 Restaurant ! It’s extremely interesting as you walk through the restaurant to your seat at all the antique’s , and architecture. Plants and gardens out back and a gift shop make for a fun experience! The door was delicious! We shared a 16 oz ribeye steak cooked to perfection! Baked potato and house salad . Our waiter Johaisa was the very best !
Thanks Wayne

This is an excellent place the patio seating is enchanting and cozy. The food was incredible. The wine was excellent. We travel everywhere with our dog and this place advertised dog friendly seating. We were so happy when we arrived that the patio was completely empty and we would most likely be seated quickly. I gave this place 4 stars total because when we requested outdoor seating, we were told that the server assigned to the patio was highly allergic to dogs. We are completely sympathetic to this. However, as a manager why would you assign a server who can’t be near dogs to the only available area that accommodates dogs, when you advertise dog friendly. We were asked to wait 20 minutes for a server to arrive to be seated. We do not ever mind waiting we completely understand that a table may not be available and have waited upwards of an hour to obtain dog friendly seating. This was a little irritating as this is the fault of poor management with valued employees. Again we loved dining here and would absolutely go again.

This restaurant is the real deal . A real log house built in 1776 with lots of artifacts to browse on the walls .All the menu prices are very reasonable with excellent quality meals ..plus it's just off interstate 77 . The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. My wife had strip steak only$20 .I had stuffed pork loin with stuffed squash which was so good .

Very unique restaurant worth the visit just don't get the stuffed pork chop! It was like 2 pieces of jerky filled with stuffing. I couldn't even tell it was a pork chop.
