Great dogs in a fun little throwback! Skeeters has many options of hot dogs and choices of buns. Antique memorabilia makes the dining experience kitschy and unique, and prices are very reasonable. Local history is displayed in posters, including a special one in particular. It explains that President Woodrow Wilson’s wife was born on the second story of the building. Wytheville was her hometown. If you’re passing through we would highly recommend enjoying a Skeeter dog!

The chili does not look like on the picture. It’s runny like water. The prices are good and the people who works. There are very accommodating, kind and friendly. The restaurant is clean and the restroom is clean. The hot dogs are not so good.

Atmosphere takes you back. Hot dog combos are creative. Our family had 6 different selections between us and everyone was extremely happy with their choices. The dog with brisket on it was amazing.

Nothing like driving an hour to sit for 45 minutes to learn they never put your order in. Still charge you $11 for four drinks and then be salty you didn’t tip them because they didn’t provide any service. Couldn’t tell you if they’re world famous or not because I couldn’t get any.

I’ve been meaning to hit up Skeeters for a long time—I knew about it since I was little because my grandparents were in Wytheville. My mom and I finally stopped in recently to try it (we both live out of town).
We experienced very friendly service, a laid back vibe, and good dogs. I had a regular and a New Yorker. They hit the spot, and the chili is awesome! You can’t beat a hot dog, and I always love patronizing small businesses over chains.
Please do stop by—hot dogs are good for the soul.

I ate three hot dogs and regret nothing. They were delicious and this place is awesome. I wanted to buy a T-shirt but they were sold out so hopefully next time I come thru town I can snag one

If you live within 60 miles or find yourself cruising by Wytheville, VA you owe it to yourself to try this place. It is an historic and local favorite and easily accessible from Interstate 81 and Interstate 77.
Get a Slawdog or a Journey and try not to crave another two days later.
At the end of the day? Yeah...they mostly sling hot dogs, but there are many other options on the menu and overall it makes for a great roadside stop. Based on the town, location and most importantly a welcoming and friendly staff, I dare you to find a better experience on Virginia's Interstate 81 than Skeeters!!
