Visited The Chipper today because I periodically crave what is the best fish/chips in the area! Always a friendly/informative greeting followed by hot/crunchy/flavorful haddock and chips! Throw in some creamy coleslaw and some curry sauce and you have a taste treat. The food is always hot, the prices are reasonable, and the people are friendly!Cheerio, Mate! I’ll be back soon..?

After I read all the reviews, I ordered 3 dinners online last weekend. The food was ready as promised and the lady up front was cheerful and polite. As I was driving home I noticed the containers had a burnt smell and I thought it was the styrofoam packaging. At home the dinners were opened and all three sides were burnt. The onion rings sides were black in places on both orders. The chips (fries) were so overcooked that they were dark brown and shriveled. I immediately called their number and Matt the GM answered. He apologized and offered a full refund. I offered to return the food but he said no. I had already spent an hour and gas to and from The Chipper. After a few minutes Matt stated that because it was an online order he could not refund me but would speak with his boss and call back. We ate the burger and shrimp with no sides and threw out the fish (no flavor) and sides. Fifty dollars down the drain. It does no good to have a meat without a side dish. I ended up piecing a meal together at 7:30 pm.No call the next day but two days later Antonio called and asked for pictures which I sent. Two more days passed and I was refunded less thansixteen dollars. He claims that it being the busiest time of the day was “not an excuse” but I was welcome back. NO SIR, I will NOT waste my time, gas or money on this place. I gave them 2 stars simply because the lady was nice at the pickup end. Highly disappointed and do not recommend this place.

An unexpected Wow! Large piping hot planks of cod in a crispy batter on a bed of delicious lightly seasoned chips (fries). The fried shrimp were also crispy and delicious, and the slaw was crunchy, creamy and a little sweet with a nice touch of red onion. Generous portions. Friendly, helpful, welcoming staff.The menu also has offerings for the non-fish/seafood lover. Alas, it is unlikely that I will ever try any of those, but I will be back for the fish and chips soon.Do not let the modest appearance (outside and inside) and tiny parking lot fool you. If you are a fish and chips fan, you are going to love The Chipper!
It's all about that beautiful beer battered cod sandwich they have!UPDATE: They have a pub burger that had onion rings on it! Ended up getting some on my Cod sandwich! Nicknamed it The Banger!

Fish and chips was really good! The atmosphere, while not bad, was lackluster. Kind of dingy. The building could use a deep cleaning and fresh paint. But, the service and food will make me visit again. Oh, and if you're a cole slaw snob like me, you should know it's more on the tangy side and I think had raw onion in it. Not my preferred style of slaw, but I still give an excellent food rating.
Had the haddock, chips, and a sunkist. At first I was a little worried the breading was going to be far too thick, but it was pretty much perfect. It wasn't the thin little flaky nothing of a breading. It wasn't some heavily thick breading. Just the right amountThe chips (fries) were kind ofa steakhouse cut, cooked well. They offered al lthe fixxing.Ketchup, tartar sauce, malt vinegar. I was vbery pleased with what we got.My wife had the same so I can't talk about anything else o nthe menu. We'll be going back again.Service was really nice, made the order and they brought it to our table. The atmosphere is kind of cheery, some amusing signs and pictures, but also a good atmosphereNow, don't go expecting upscale, this is a fish and chips kind of place. And it did it very well. As a fish and chips place I give it a solid 5/5. Price for two, plus a tip came in about $50. Seems the norm nowadays, but I enjoyed it a lot more than some combo meal from a fast food place.

Good fish n chips! Battered sausage was good too! Fries good! Didn't like that they'd charged for the curry sauce. Oh well. Good food!
