I just want to say the meal we had was delectable! Our daughter, who works for the James Beard Foundation, gave us a gift certificate so you know it's going to be good, but it far exceeded our expectations. Better yet, it's located in the North East Kingdom of Vermont! Oh, and the service is one of a kind!
Came here for the first time with a large group (5 different families). All I can say is don't judge a book by its cover. When we pulled up I was concerned. The exterior of the Parson's house is a little rough but believe me the food and service are excellent. The Dinner House at Runaway Manor is a beautiful and cozy establishment with a Hallmark-like charm, a true gem in the middle of nowhere town Glover. It feels like more than a restaurant, with a unique and enchanting feel in every room, like a fairytale castle. The space itself is stunning, with so much light and green plants growing.
The food is amazing, absolutely excellent, inventive yet comforting, and expertly and artistically presented. The menu is well-curated with a good variety to choose from, and every single dish sounds delicious. The drinks are also delicious. The hospitality is top notch, extremely warm, and outstanding. Every single person working there is very nice, friendly, knowledgeable, kind, and attentive, making guests feel cherished. It is obvious how much passion went into this place.
While one guest reported a bad experience on a specific night, the owner personally apologized, which was appreciated. Overall, this special place has quickly become a favorite restaurant for many, offering a memorable and magical experience that feels like living inside a dream. It is very much worth the visit.
