I like to stop at lodges, especially mid/peak mountain lodges from resorts all over. Vail owned gives low expectations but this place got lower. Obviously expect high prices as mountain food tends to be (56 for a panini, soup, and two beers). My “panini” was so soggy on the bottom and almost as cold as my iced French fries even though they were sitting under a heat lamp. Wife’s soup was mediocre at best, leaving the tiny little cube of cornbread to be the best thing. Beer was served at a temp to hardly be considered cold from a tiny booth upstairs. Why? Because the infamous SKYBAR was closed even though the signs all around said it was within business hours. We did find refuge in the closed skybar to eat our soggy poor temped meals but beware, within 20 feet of the restrooms wreaks of urine and dirty dish waters wafting from down the hall from the I suppose dish room? Idk if this was already Okemos tune or if vail ruined another mountain like my home spot. The guy who poured our beers upstairs was nice though.

Drift - once again - Dinner and Service was excellent. Ali was our server and he was attentive and very responsive to our needs. A wonderful place for lunch / dinner. Also, the entire staff was engaging and attentive to our needs.

All the the hostess and staff were amazing! I love the ambiance and scenery. It was a very warm and comfortable environment. All of the option I tasted were seafood based. The crabcakes were small but tasty. I tried the ceviche and was not a fan, heavily laced with lime and onions. It was spicier than expected. Definitely too much citrus juice. Even our server mentioned that it was “juicier” than normal. I also had the snapper with the lobster complement. My lobster was tough but had good flavor. The snapper was also tough and a bit dry. The shrimp that comes underneath was ok. I don't think that I would get the snapper again. I also tried two drinks on the menu. I cannot remember the Gin drink but I also had the luau Maui (I think that was the name). Both tasted as though there was no alcohol added. The best part was our server. She was super sweet and accommodating. I would come back based on how attentive she was, and would try other selections.

My husband & I visited for dinner and the staff was so welcoming and excited that we came in to celebrate our dual birthday there. We received complimentary glasses of champagne and the staff sweetly put together a happy birthday card thanking us for choosing Drift to celebrate our day. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was above and beyond. Thank you for a lovely evening! 10/10 recommend.

Food was excellent and service was equally great. The only “complaint” was that we were seated at a 2-top table with no view on our anniversary. Would have preferred a premium table. Happy to have this fine dining option in Gaston County!

Probably the worst service we've ever had in a restaurant. Thursday night, 6:00. Was not crowded. Server was completely inattentive and spent the majority of her time talking to what we assume were friends at another table. After waiting 75 min for our food, we finally inquired with the manager and it became apparent our order had not been turned in to the kitchen!! Waited another 25 min for the food, which was admittedly pretty good. During the long wait, the server did not come by once to check in. We even went up to the bar ourselves to order another round of drinks. They knocked a bit off the bill and gave us free desserts which we opted to take to-go. Took almost 15 minutes to get the bag with the boxed up desserts. It was almost a joke to us at that point.

This was our first visit to Drift and it will not be our last. My wife and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We have driven by probably over 50 times and have always wanted to check it out. The moment we walked through the front doors we were greated by the hostesses and they wished us happy anniversary. We were then seated and both had a complementary glass of champagne and bread with the most awesome garlic butter you will have ever eaten. Our server Ashton was the best, I mean she was from New York and took great care of us and explaining the menu. My wife order the shrimp cocktail, they were huge and delicious. I ordered the crab cakes and they were light and most scrumptious. We both shared them and just wow. A few moments later Ashton arrived back to our table to order our Entrees. We both ordered the 10oz filet with Sautéed mushrooms and garlic smashed potatoes. The food arrived in a timely manner and let me tell you. The presentation and taste was outstanding. The filets were so tender and juicy, it about put me in a food coma! We still had just enough room for desserts, I had the tiramisu and my wife had the dark chocolate crème brûlée. Of course I had to compliment it with a cappuccino. After great discussions and enjoying one another's company. Ashton gave us a tour of the upstairs where they hold private events and party's. Overall, I highly recommend drift and ask for Ashton to be your server. She was the best and can't be to come back and try all the other wonderful items on the menu!!!

It was a lovely evening, we had the best table in the house, a competent server and nice interactions with other staff plus the general manager. The food was excellent and the menu interesting. Perfect place for our 61st anniversary.

My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner. We had reservations and were seated within 5mins of arriving. Once seated we ordered, got our salads, and waited for our steaks, filet and cowboy ribeye. It took 40mins to get our steaks but the server and manager came to apologize for the weight. While we had bread and were offered other things we got a little aggravated in the wait. After finishing our steaks the waitress brought us two complimentary deserts for our wait. That is what gets return service. They acknowledged the problem without ignoring it and made it right. All the food was great and the service made up for the hiccup.

Service is very slow. Walked in and stood there not being acknowledged at all for a few minutes. Waiter seemed to be overwhelmed as he only checked on us a few times and we had to ask someone else to find him for our check.

This was our third visit to Drift and every visit has been consistent. From the atmosphere, to food, to service - we have not been disappointed. On this most recent visit, our server was Bill. He was just outstanding. As always, the views from our table were spectacular. I've tried a different entree on each visit and have left satisfied. Looking forward to more visits to Drift.

Check your map because I didn't realize how far it was. Still it was worth the drive. I will be back again, probably in the fall. The food was delicious. I had the lobster bisque and the crabcakes. Was so on point and I am funny about my lobster bisque. It was so good. They give you a good portion as well. The crabcakes were good. My husband enjoyed the shrimp cocktail and a chicken sandwich and he ate every last drop. He was satisfied. We both said 10 out of 10. We will be back Drift, save a booth for us.

The menu was amazing and exciting. The food was delicious. While our service was good, it could have been better. We had to remind the waiter several times that she had promised to bring more water and did not. She asked if we wanted more bread and we said yes, but she never brought it. We were celebrating a birthday (just two of us) and the hostess wrote it down on a piece of paper and handed it to the waiter. The waiter never did acknowledge the occasion. While it is not required, it would have been a nice touch if she had recognized who we were celebrating.

We have eaten at drift on Lake Wylie a total of four times. Two times was a medical meeting and the fillet was absolutely wonderful. A third time I had the salmon and had a fillet and it was fabulous of course all the appetizers were amazing especially the lobster bisque soup and shrimp appetizer. Last night I probably had one of the best steaks I've had in over 20 years. I ordered the large fillet medium rare lightly blackened. And it was absolutely astounding and wonderful The waitress,Wendi , remembered serving us the last time and has an amazing memory of what we like and don't like. She has been there since it was opened. It is our new “go to” Steak House now. The manager even came by to EVERY table to ask us if there's anything that we needed or could do better. Now that's customer service Yes, it was expensive but well worth the time, the atmosphere, the food was amazing, and overall would give this an A+ experience. God has blessed me financially. And I reward those who reward me. My beautiful and faithful wife Lisa is well worth every penny. Cannot put a price on that.

That was our first time dining there. It was fantastic. Our server, George was great! Very knowledgeable, friendly, honest . The views, the food were outstanding! We will be returning as that was by far the best meal we've had out in the longest time!
