I stopped twice at The Freeze while in Bennington, both times having the fish and chips. Not greasy, decent sized filet of haddock, good ice cream (tried the sweet cream carmel apple as both cone and as a shake), good fries. Reasonably priced for what you get.\n\nOnly thing that bothered me during the second visit, was the presence of young children (below teens) moving around in the food prep area, saw one youngster handling the drain screen for the shake machine. I was surprised how long we waited for our sandwiches until I tasted mine (hot pastrami). It was delicious and it was clear that a lot of care went into making the sandwich. At the price we paid, I was expecting a small side of fries or potato chips, but that wasn't included. Prices all over Vermont are high. The variety is great.
They froze that annoying cool guy wanna be for transport back to the Empire adequately, so I guess they know what they are doing. Also, the low cal offerings were appreciated. Jk, go for it ... diabetes is just a state of mind, get toppings on toppings with toppings and then put caramel on it. Yolo with the froyo
