“I have to drive over 80 miles each way to eat in the restaurant but it’s well worth it. I am English and travel to England usually about once a year to visit my family and of course I eat Haddock and chips a couple of times when I’m there and I must say that none of the chip shops there compare to Lil Britain because when you buy food in a British shop it has been sitting around for quite a while on display in a heated cabinet but in Lil Britain I always wait for the food to be cooked and I know it’s fresh out of the fryer. Everything my wife and I buy there is delicious and the staff are so very friendly.I have no doubt that we will be back there ASAP, when you are running a business here in the USA and you hear it mentioned and recommend on a British radio station by Mark Goodier you know it has to be good.Keep up the good work folks.”
“Door dashed Philly's twice now and the food was fantastic, especially the Philly Jawns, which is now one of my son's favorite foods. I tried the Broad Street Bully and it was so good. Bennington needed something new and different and Philly's was just the thing. I look forward to visiting the restaurant in person.”
“Food was great, big servings, was so full., As of today. Food still fantastic. Prices have gone up just like everything else.Parking: Streets on River, Depot Street free parkingKid-friendliness: Family atmosphereWheelchair accessibility: Ramp on other side of building, just ask for help”
“They had a variety of sandwiches which made it difficult to choose. I had the Belly Up which was delicious though a little messy, but worth it. Definitely worth a stop if your in Bennington.”
“The food was perfect! The corned beef Reuben and those fries! It was so clean and the service was kind. Just what we needed as we drove through to Boston. We’re excited to stop by on the way back to try something else!”
“Run don’t walk to try their “The Ultimate Grilled Ham and Cheese Panini”. The combination of flavors that greets you is amazing. Welcoming and attentive service also notable.”
“We made a reservation for 6 and we were sat in the last room at a beautiful large round table. The atmosphere was beautiful. The room was all windows where we could see the sunset over the mountains. We had two children in our group and we were very happy with the children's accommodations. They had a good kids menu and provided paper and crayons. The high chair was spotless which is very rare even at nice restaurants. The kids meals came with a drink and ice cream for dessert. Our entrees came with a salad bar which was outstanding. Everything was fresh and they had staff attending the salad bar to make sure it was stocked and clean. We had the baked Brie and artichoke dip appetizers and they were delicious. I had a pork osso bucco special which in my opinion could have been a little more tender but the flavor and sides were excellent. Everyone else also very much enjoyed their meals. The ONLY complaint I would have is there was a very strong marijuana smell. It smelled as if someone was smoking in the room with us. This could have been someone smoking right outside or in the kitchen or even a patron vaping and hiding it so I can't definitely fault the restaurant. Just something that's not ideal while dining with my young children, but like I said not necessarily the restaurants fault.”
“I went in on a busy evening with a table of four. We didn’t have to wait long to be seated and the staff were all polite and friendly as we waited, making sure to give us little updates while they waited for a table to leave and then get cleared off.Once seated we were greeted by a lovely woman and she promptly took our drink orders. We browsed the menu quickly and made sure to have appetizers and entrees in mind before each time she came back to ensure she wasn’t going to be doing extra running back and forth on such a busy night. We ordered some nachos to share with the pulled pork and it was AMAZING. I wish there was a larger portion of pork for the plate, but that’s my only real gripe. Our entrees took a little while to come out but again, it was a busy night and we expected such. Food still came out hot and delicious when it was ready! Our waitress was super sweet, the atmosphere in the place is pleasant and highly enjoyable. And the food was well worth the wait! Will definitely be visiting again.”

“The only place in Bennington (as of this writing!) to get an authentic Philly Cheesesteak! Highly recommended! Just like you can learn a lot about classical artists (DaVinci, Michelangelo, etc) when you study and appreciate their work, you can definitely tell how much of a passion Junior’s got for his craft, as each Philly Cheesesteak is an enjoyable work of art with every bite! I also highly recommend the jalapeño poppers and the fried cheese balls…and if you can’t decide between the two, ask him for a little bit of both and see what happens! You will absolutely love this place! ? wish i could give the best Philly Cheesesteaks in Bennington more than 5 stars! ?”
“I got a chicken burrito it was amazing. The man behind the counter was super friendly and polite and welcoming. Nice to walk in a place and get treated nicely and get amazing food and the price was great. Thank you I will be back soon.”
“Went for my birthday with my wife and two adult sons. Seated quickly and server was at our table quickly. Got our drinks in short order, and ordered some appetizers. We got Fried Ravioli, Tuna Sashimi and a Garlic Hummus plate. They were all excellent! I personally enjoyed the Fried Ravioli the most. Our meals were just as excellent and served in a timely manner. We had plans after dinner and had plenty of time to get to the comedy show down the street at the Bennington Theater (formerly OldCastle Theater). The specialty drinks we all had were most excellent as well!”
“Here for a beer and dinner just past opening time. A friendly bartender and a lovely fellow drinker who asked me about my travels and suggested a few things I might need to see while I'm passing through New England. The beer? One of their delicious New England IPAs. It was cold and smooth and quite flavorful.Dinner? I reviewed the menu and while it all looked great - tacos, enchiladas, nachos and burritos - none of it would come even close to my keto diet. I simply enjoyed the beer and headed onwards.Neat homey place and delicious brews. Worth it.[Review 18456 overall - 56 in Vermont - 1978 of 2022.]”
“Played the front nine on our way passing through town. Course was in nice shape for it being the end of the season. Great views of the area and wasn’t too busy. As you finish up the front nine, be prepared to play your ball from uphill or downhill lie as there isn’t a bit of even ground on these holes. Greens are pretty quick and makes for challenging putting. Overall, would play again but $58 for nine and a cart felt steep.”
“Dropped in for a quick bite to eat, ordered a grilled sourdough cheese & tomato sandwich. Cold tomato, lacked a quantity of cheese. However the grilled Rueden had plenty of filling & throughly enjoyable.”
